KeymasterBasic rundown of flower story for those who have not seen Tangled:
–A drop of sunlight fell to earth and became a flower that had the power to cure ills and restore health and beauty.
–A dying Queen (Rapunzel’s mother) needed it to live and deliver the baby
–The King sent his men out to find the flower, which they did. They turned it into a soup, which the queen drank while pregnant
–This magic of the flower was “alive” in Rapunzel’s hair, so that when someone brushed her hair or held it and she sang a special song, their wounds would be healed and the clock wound turn back on their age.

ParticipantThey could totally copy the start of the movie and have the Jones Brothers sent out to find the flower to heal the pregnant Queen. Would give more reason for Liam to refuse to use it to cure himself instead if it’s not just the Queen’s life at stake, but also an unborn royal baby’s life too.

Then the question is what is the Queen’s name and the baby is this a lead in to Rapunzel? or is this King George since his wife couldn’t have a baby?

I would LOVE it if the writers made the king whom Killian and Liam serve be Rapunzel’s father. It would be an excellent nod to “Tangled.”

Timeline wise, this king can’t be King George, because he wasn’t even born for another 200 some years after this flashback takes place. Captain Hook is nearly as old as Rumple, remember.

King George is about 250 LATER than Killian and Liam. This is back in the time before Rumple became the Dark One. Whatever king is sending out the borthers is long dead. Also, borrowing one elements of a movie does not mean you borrow the whole thing. They can borrow the flower WITHOUT having to do a whole Rapunzel story.

ParticipantI got thinking last night based on the Promo, Promo Pics and the Press Release. Here is what I think will happen.
I think either Hook will spill the beans about David to Snow & Emma or they will discover it on their own somehow. Which I think prompts not only the quest to find the Sextant but also the hugs & kisses that David gives to Snow & Emma. I think on that quest Hook will share the story about his brother and the quest that the King sent them on to find that plant that sent them to Neverland. I believe that when Hook & his brother found the island they discovered Pan & the Lost Boys . I suspect there was a skirmish between the them and Hook’s brother Wiilam was most likely injured by the either an arrow or sword laced with dreamshade which would explain how Hook knows how long it take the poison to kill a person. I’m betting that Pan knew about the antidote(Plant) but refused to give it the brothers or tried to get Hook to play one of his games to get the plant to save his brother. Which could explain why Hook hates Pan almost as he does Rumple. Hook either refused to play Pan’s game or he did play the game but found the plant the needed to late and his brother died.
I think while they are on the quest to find this Sextant that they need to break the code of Neal’s map They also discover the plant needed to heal Charming. They use it and Charming is healed. They find the Sextant. When Charming & Hook return that is when Snow toasts Hook and Emma kisses Hook because of the victory in finding not only Sextant but also a cure for her father (Which would be a victory over Pan) I think Charming will see the kiss and that is when he pulls the sword on Hook and tells him to stay away from his daughter. I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t see Neal towards the end of the episode.

KeymasterI think that is all perfectly plausible with the exception of a few things.
First
When Charming & Hook return that is when Snow toasts Hook and Emma kisses Hook because of the victory in finding not only Sextant but also a cure for her father (Which would be a victory over Pan) I think Charming will see the kiss and that is when he pulls the sword on Hook and tells him to stay away from his daughter.
I am VERY suspicious of the promo in this regard. I think editors are like the BF: sneaky. They want you to think that Charming walk in on the kiss but I actually doubt that anyone does. I think Hook and Emma are entirely alone for it. The scenes also don’t appear to match: Charming is on a dark cliff, CS are in a mutely lit jungle.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t see Neal towards the end of the episode.
I actually doubt that we’ll see Neal at all. I also don’t expect to see Belle and possibly very little Rumple.

SpectatorI thought someone said that they are toasting a small victory over the Lost Boys/PP that is why they are cheering.
