I’m sure the writer’s explanation is that it was fate, but the thing is what did the writers have Regina herself believe? Was she saying “oh yeah, fate, just not getting a baby…..” or was she saying “Yes, adoptions can take awhile, I have to be patient” not suspecting that the curse itself prevented any other child from heading her way? If she had access to information about the outside world, then she had to know the average wait time is far less than 18 years. It can take time, sure, and much less time the less standards you impose on what type of child you would want. Did she fill out forms and get rejected by “official” channels?

I don’t think so. I think the story of Henry’s adoption is a major one and everything they’ve written about it thus far will be explained. It’s interesting that both times it’s come up Rumple’s been consistent in his description: he procured Henry. Not found, not brought to SB.

Probably not…fun to speculate though !Maybe not. We saw in “Tallahassee” that Emma was already pregnant when August took the money from Neal. He might have stuck around for a few months setting up the adoption before leaving for Phuket.

If she did, then the moment they went to check her address, they’d have discovered it didn’t exist on any map. I dunno much about the adoption process, but I’m thinking they like to only give babies to people that they can verify actually exist.

The package that Emma got in jail had been posted from Phuket. August took the money and ran, then mailed the keys back to her. This is why I don’t get how people can still think that August played some role in the adoption, because I’m pretty sure he had zero interest in setting foot on American soil ever again once he ran away, and he was already in Phuket before Emma even took the pregnancy test.

Good point! I forgot about that. They’ve certainly set up some mysteries to surprise us in the future.
K & H are keeping a close lid on this storyline, probably because fans are pretty good at figuring things out, even with the slightest of hints. All we have to go on is the word “procured, ” the fact that Mr. Gold was somehow involved, and the knowledge that no one at the time of the adoption had their memories except Regina. I’m kind of surprised Henry has never asked,nor has Emma asked to see the adoption papers. (but suspect that the reason is that the writers aren’t ready to go there just yet).
