Tonight we said goodbye to a lot of our main cast–Emma, Snow, Charming, Zelena, young!Henry, and Belle are all leaving this show. Which character will you miss the most? The least? Who’s story felt totally finished and who’s felt like there was more to tell?

Which character will you miss the most?
Belle of course, I think she was totally underutilized especially this season.
The least?
Snow and Charming and just because I feel that their story is completely done. They have had very little to do for the last four seasons.
Who’s story felt totally finished and who’s felt like there was more to tell?
Snow and Charming feels totally finished. Zelena’s feels totally unfinished. I think there was still a story to tell with Belle also. It felt like we were just starting to get some character development from both Rumple and Belle and then nothing the end. I think we could have seen a lot more.
May 14, 2017 at 11:18 pm #338616bibliophileParticipantAgreed on all points with AKA.
I’ll miss Belle the most, both because she is and has always been my Disney Princess and because I love Rumple and want him to be happy and who knows how Belle will be written out or how soon. Will Rumbelle get to raise their baby together and then 15-20 years later something happens shortly before Lucy shows up at Henry’s door that separate them?
While I know I’ll miss Snow and Charming, I do agree that their story has been complete for a long time now and nothing more really needs to added other than the familiar tagline ‘…and they lived happily ever after’.
Belle’s story feels unfinished. They’ve never really known what to do with her and I’ve never understand why she was so hard to write for. Zelena’s story sort of feels finished with her giving up her magic and all, but her story felt rushed at the end and she didn’t get a lot of development either.

They are going to have to introduce more female characters. An all male cast with just Regina is going to be really hard for me to watch. Maybe Lucy’s mother will be an interesting character.
I think Emma and her parents storyline has never been properly shown. They have never gone enough into Emma’s back story growing up. Emma has barely discussed that with her parents. They have never properly resolved that for me. They just quit talking about it. Snow and Charming as a couple may be finished, but Emma and her parents was barely touched, in my opinion, and not even remotely delved into as deeply as it should have been. Because it was never explored properly, it was never resolved, and that is complete failure for a show where Emma is the main character.
I actually think that Zelena’s story felt finished. She was a minor character and she resolved her issues with Regina. Those were the issues her story revolved around. Her magic is gone, so she is no longer a danger and she has her family. They could do more with her, but it would be opening new storylines.
Emma’s storyline with her parents was opened in Season 1, but never properly explored or resolved, so that feels much less finished then Zelena who had very few storylines being a much more minor character.
May 15, 2017 at 1:47 pm #338664TheWatcherParticipantI still have an issue with Zelena not having magic, but I guess that’s just me. It makes her extremely vulnerable and shes had magic her entire life, so now not only does she have a baby but she has to live life a completely different way than what she is used to. I would much rather her learn to use her powers for good instead of not having the option at all. Idk, it just really rubs me wrong.
I also would have loved to see Roland back. Either in the EF where he meets RH and EQ or see Regina encounter him again. Shes still stepmommy.
But I guess I will miss Emma the most despite my issues with her character lately for the past few seasons. The person I will miss the least is still here so idk.

Her story felt half-done and like Watcher said, her not having her powers just really doesn’t seem right. She was literally a prodigy of magic, the most powerful sorceress in town, and they just snatched away all her magic….I just don’t think Zelena would let herself remain powerless, and like Bex said…her arc in Season 7 could’ve been about her finally getting her magic back.
Another one is Young Henry, because I’m going to miss seeing Lana Parrilla & Jared Gilmore together!!! Hopefully there are plenty of flashbacks so Jared could still come back and fill in the missing pieces of Henry’s story. I don’t know the type of chemistry Andrew will have with Lana, but I’m certain it won’t compare to the natural and believable mother/son chemistry Jared had with Lana.
I’ll miss Belle a little, definetly feel as if she was underused quite a lot these last few seasons. And I would’ve loved to see her raising Gideon, but given the time skip, I guess Giles Matthey will be back next season to play adult Gideon again. Maybe we’ll get flashbacks.
Who I will miss the least are the Charmings. Snow White, Charming, & Emma….heh…to be honest, I’m not that much affected by this. Of course I’m going to heavily miss Ginny & Josh, & JMo, but their characters….I’ll probably miss them a little. Emma’s role as Savior looks like it finished it’s story, and Snowing look like they’ve finished their epic true love story….so I guess it’s all good.

The big story with Rumpel/Belle and Snow/Charming and Emma and Regina and Baelfire and Henry. That show is still unfinished as well. That is sort of the big writing problem of the show that will always be left unfinished. So in that way, the story for all the characters is left unfinished. The minor characters stories were much easier to finish.
I totally get wanting Zelena to have magic and do more with her. I just think as her character was now and the danger she was to the town and the family at large, that just getting rid of that danger helped that problem for me. It might not do a lot for Zelena as a character, but it helped the main characters and removes the question of what about Zelena without having to spend a lot of time on some sort of redemption for her or just flipping a switch on her redemption which they do a lot on this show.

They could have used her, instead of Regina, to hold back the curse as well. It would have been much more believable if it had been her powers as there is no way Regina could have had enough of an impact on the descending darkness. Zelena ended up being really passive in this episode, which just isn’t her.

I won’t miss any of them, well maybe Bandit Snow. Oh wait, I’ll miss Zelena.
There is definitely more to tell of Regina’s story. I would be happy to see more of EF Regina and SB Regina, but I would prefer to see more of SB Regina out of the two. Robin Hood needs much more background as well as more story.
It feels like there is more to Zelena’s story, too but sadly the creators have decided to end it.

May 16, 2017 at 11:36 am #338747thedarkonedearieParticipantI’m going to miss Zelena and Emma the most. Although I do feel Emma’s journey came to an end. Zelena I feel could have been fleshed out more and I grew to enjoy Zelena’s over the top wickedness.
