In the last few moments, Ingrid learned that her sisters truly loved her and she realized she had to stop the curse by sacrificing herself.

Final thoughts on Ingrid and her storyline?

Are you okay with how she ended?

While it does feel cliche’ to have yet another Big Bad killed off, I’ll admit I liked that this time around it was Ingrid choosing to sacrifice herself. For a second I thought maybe the spell would break as a result of love and acceptance between Ingrid, Elsa, Anna and Emma, but I guess that would have been too simple.

    I agree and disagree. Briefly…

    1) It was sacrifice, I get that. But there are a lot of “suicide as happy ending” overtones here and it makes me…uncomfortable to say the least.

    2) Rumple did basically the same thing in 311, but Ingrid saved a town and Rumple only stopped Pan. So it’s not like they haven’t done this before.

    3) All that said, it was beautifully acted

    I have mixed feelings.

I do think it’s a very valid point that suicide as a happy ending is a harmful message to send.

But the aspect of her accepting responsibility for her actions was a great redemptive moment.

I just wish they’d had another way to break the curse apart from her death, because if ever there was a villain who had a shot at changing and living out a happy life with their loved ones, Ingrid was it. That would have been a far more satisfying end to her story, going back to Arendelle and being the aunt to the Queen. Guess Disney wouldn’t let them do that though, so instead she had to die. *sigh*
