Ok bare with me people I was behind on Gotham so I am basically it marathon it all in like two sittings and then watch the finale live.
I must say when you Marathon a series you don’t have time to really think of it critically with each episode. Marathon a series is like entering a food eating contest you just digest and digest. No time to savor it each morsel. My brain received Gotham like I was at fair eating cotton candy and funnel cakes. I truly enjoyed Season 2B in all campy glory. It was far better to me then Season 2A where for me the most notable thing was Jerome and the other crazies. Season 2b from the introduction from freeze to Doctor Hugo Strange was enjoyable amusement ride. With all that said. I watch the Finale Live and that was when a bit of the stomach sickness begin to encroach. I didn’t hate it and I wasn’t bored but it was not all it could be. I left wanting a bit more. Maybe it was just anti-climatic.
I felt Strange Demise really fell flat with me. I simply was not impress with his crying and whining and squabbling reminded me how ridiculous Galavan turn out to be. Honestly I’m wondering how did Dr. Strange survive the fire and artic blast. Like come on really.
Firefly vs Freeze: me like a lot. It remind be of that Robert Frost poem.
There fore the battle between those two were a nice tasteful imagery however Like one has said I wanted Firefly to defend her friend because she was starting to remember her.
The Archetypes villains/monsters that Strange was creating like a comic book creator was psychological interesting however there is a part of me who want these villains to derive their own characteristics from their own broken psyche. Of course it seem like Strange was just making suggestions and the monsters were filling in the pieces.
I do not LIKE THE COURT OF OWLS. there I said it. I think the secret council is cliche and overused and to close to Galavan stuff which turn sour with me after that gawd awful family feud backstory.
I am not happy with a Bruce Clone, we had a fake Jim Gordon it was fun and campy and silly and I loved it but dear Lord not a whole season of Bruce Clone just no. I just can’t.
Fish Mooney Love her but I agree with @RumplesGirl one expletive was enough. Love that she got a super girl controlling people it fits.
Baby Bat and Cat are adorable I love them I sorry I do.
Gordon to find Leigh I was like its about time (And of course my mind with paternity leave. He wants to get some daddy bonding time as well, but then I was like wait the season is over now. When does filming restart and when is that baby due?) Also as RG and others pointed out is this really the right time for this?
The Bomb: I just thought of the Bomb in Batman Forever the one that killed Robin’s family. I loved that they defused the bomb by accident. It was hilarious to me.
Ms. Peebody: I love her. She is just no nonsense lets get this over with because we got work to do.
Penguin: I actually enjoyed Penguin this season. I actually felt pity for him at one point and I was like why I am feeling sorry for Penguin he is crazy and sadistic. And he even used some Greco-Roman mythos type of revenge were a mother ate her own children before being slaughtered.
Riddler: was Perfect. Loved Him all the way through.
Overall I have to be honest I don’t have much complaints for season 2B. It was fun and thrilling. What can I say I enjoy greasy sugary sweet fair food even if I get a stomach ache later.
Sorry for the confusion I am a bit rusty on these sort of things.

From a mythology standpoint I do like CoO. They’re important to the Batman mythos. But I am very worried what the show will do to them. Gotham has a tendency to put in an interesting villain, make him/her seem super scary and worthy of a large arc….and then kill him/vanish him or her an episode or two later. They’ve done it countless times now–Scarecrow, the Ogre, Galavan/Azrael, Tabitha, Jerome, Mr. Freeze–for me to trust the writers in an measurable degree. If the writers had proven to me that they were capable of sustaining a long arc with a solid villain, I’d worry less. But as it stands…
The show also has a too-many-cooks problem. Seriously, how many villains were just unleashed onto Gotham City, not taking into account Penguin and Nygma and Fish (and the mob? Are they still a thing? Or have we forsaken them in place of non-human villains?)

However the Court of Owls just feel like they will go wrong way wrong with it. Just like the Batman Clone gives me major pause.
However I would be happy to be surprised and hope they do both things justice and prove me wrong.

Oh, Batman Clone feels totally wrong to me, as well. I think the show already puts too much time and effort into Batman when it should be developing the city and villains *more.* I understand Batman is going to have a role in the show, but I think it’s already too large. More Nygma, less Baby!Batman

Agreed. We all know Bruce is going to be Batman one day therefore he’s not in any real danger which makes him pointless because there are no stakes. Him popping up now and again like in that scene at the gala with Jerome (how that would be such a lovely start to the Joker/Batman dynamic) is fine, but for crappy side missions with Selena, it’s boring.

June 13, 2016 at 10:36 pm #324811RumplesGirlKeymasterI’m not sure how I feel about it either. I guess I have to see it in context, but usually when shows age up a child it’s in order to sexualize them and…no thanks.

Considering it’s Poison Ivy, that’s probably what it is, and I am very creeped out by it. Of course, they could just be bringing in Pamela Isley as a separate character, who would be closer in age to Jerome, to set up a love triangle with Harleen Quinzel, but still. It’s no secret that Poison Ivy is a sexualized character in the comics, but can Heller, et al. find no other way to use her?
Ways to use Poison Ivy that aren’t sexualized:
• Have her deal with problems controlling her powers, Elsa-style.
• Explore the possibility that the plants she creates are an extension of her, Flame Princess-style.
• Have her advocate for environmental reform.
• Have her take down chemical companies (Ace Chemicals, perhaps?).Feel free to add to this list.

But isn’t poison ivy the epitome of using her looks to get what she wants? Why would you guys want them to stray from the character? That would be like hoping Nygma isn’t a twisted genius but instead was a dummy.
June 14, 2016 at 12:06 pm #324820PriceofMagicParticipantThey could be doing a time jump and need someone who looks older?
