I’m sure there was some thing that had The Red Hood be Joker or something.

That kid definitely seemed to be Joker.

Could there be more than one Joker? Like what Gotham did with The Scarecrow?

I thought this episode was pretty decent; there was a lot of warped humor that I found enjoyable. The case of the week of the moving Red Hood was fun to watch, though I continue to think that they are wasting Donal Logue. He is more than a one liner kind of actor. Gordon was more engaging in this episode than he has been in awhile; the actor didn’t seem bored.

Holy crap, Fish. WTH was that? That was all sorts of messed up.

I’m glad they did more with Alfred this week than “I am only here cause it’s Batman and I am required to be…” Good to see them explore the skeletons in Alfred’s closet.

The less I say about Barbara and the Dynamic Orphan Duo the better.

FISH GOUGED HER OWN EYE OUT!!

I think my mind went literally blank when she did that…I can barely remember anything else in the episode besides that and Alfred getting stabbed.

And that board…I tell you…like seriously???? The board is behind all this! Jim needs to crack this case quick!

Yeah, Fish stabbing her own eye out was incredibly disturbing. Goes to show how extreme the woman will go to get her way. That felt pretty gruesome for a primetime network show. The Red Hood plot was the best part of the episode. I like how the Red Hood is passed down from person to person. Maybe one day Jerome will don the Red Hood, since that is the Joker’s alter ego in his most famous origin story prior to his transformation into the manic clown we all know.

Yes I think that is how they are going to do the Joker origin story. Now that they’ve shown how the Red Hood works, someday we’ll see Jerome freed and picking up the hood himself.

I knew Alfred’s old “friend” was up to no good. What a *word I can’t say on the forum*.

Also, I’m never eating while watching this show again, because I was eating chips and dip when Fish squashed her eyeball and I almost threw up a little bit in my mouth. GAH!

though I continue to think that they are wasting Donal Logue. He is more than a one liner kind of actor.

He totally is, but I do so love his one liners. I’d been traumatised by the eye gouging, and by Alfred getting stabbed, but then, “I need a danish,” snapped me out of it and made me LOL. Bless Harvey Bullock, we need more personal focus on him plz.

Well, seeing the kid put on the red hood at the end and pretend like he was shooting a gun made me think that maybe Jerome had been total misdirection, and this new kid is a new Joker candidate. After the way they characterised and promoted Jerome, I was 95% sure they wouldn’t turn around and have that be a fake out…but now I’m not so confident.

This is what showrunner Bruno Heller weighed in during an interview prior to last week’s episode, if you’re interested:

I can tell you this is a long game plan and a long story that we are telling here. What I can promise you is this is not a bait-and-switch. This is not someone who is just a character who is going to disappear. This is not a red herring. It’s the beginning of the story of how the Joker came to be, how the Joker was created, where he came from, who he is. Now, that doesn’t necessarily mean that Cameron Monaghan is the Joker. He might be. But like I say, this is a story that begins about seven or eight years before the actual Joker arrives on the scene in his fully-fledged persona. As we’re telling with all of these characters, the origin story of that villain begins Monday.

While he is cryptic and won’t confirm or deny that Jerome is the future Joker, he did clarify that the Joker’s origin definitely started in that episode. Honestly, we may never get a fully concrete answer during the show itself, since whoever becomes the Joker won’t become the Joker until Batman himself is already out and about.

Maybe Heller is being literal. This was the episode where Jim and Leslie nudge-nudge-wink-winked.

Just watched the episode. Better than last week’s for sure.

I hope Alfred is going to be okay.

What’s up with the board at Wayne Enterprises?
