Based on your description, none of this is computing. So he’s dressed as he was when he came through the wardrobe.
Right down to his little hat and all. If I was de-ageing a character, I’d have the child version dressed the same, because they’re the same person, in the same place, essentially just shrunk. But having him in FTL costume, it’s like there’s a time travelly something or other, where the young version has been plucked out of the past and transplanted into a new time and place. I am most confuzzled. 😕

Is it possible young Pinocchio is just a vision Geppetto is having? Maybe because this is the first time he’s seen his kid in 28 years?
I’d be over the moon if it’s just a Geppetto hallucination.
[adrotate group="5"]February 13, 2013 at 2:36 pm #172970oceangypsyParticipantUnless August explicitly wishes he were *exactly* the same. Or maybe he says “I want to be who I used to be” or something, in which case his clothes might change. Also, I mean, if Blue can turn a man into a cricket, it’s probably not a stretch to turn a man into a child.
… But then I thought her magic was neutered at the moment.I don’t know, I really hope Geppetto is just seeing things. I really hope we get more filming scoop to our at least see Eion on set after this.
February 13, 2013 at 2:48 pm #172972hooks spyglassParticipantMaybe he really dying and when Blue tries to save him this is he result. Magic does work differently.
If Greg witnesses this happen he will most Limey wind up in the hospital basement 😆February 13, 2013 at 3:20 pm #172975SlurpeezParticipant@oceangypsy wrote:
Did you all ready Vancity Filming’s newest spoiler? It appears as though August gets transformed into a little kid again by the Blue Fairy. I guess August wishes he could do life over again.
I am really, really bummed out if this is true. I don’t even know if I’ll be able to go on watching the show if they pull such crap. It’s like all his character development was for nothing. The worst kind of twist to pull in a show: the reset button.
Hopefully Vancity misinterpreted the scene they filmed, but it does seem kind of damning. Eion was lying on the ground and then Jakob (young Pinocchio) took his place and filming resumed.
😯 Wow! While I don’t want this spoiler to be true, it wouldn’t be a surprise to me if Pinocchio becomes a little boy again. Also, I think this has been Rumple’s plan for Baelfire all along. In episode 1×8, Desperate Souls, Rumple said to Emma regarding Henry that children grow up so fast. He said it with such regret that it sounded like he wished he could turn back the hands of time to when Baelfire was still a boy.
Mr. Gold: Well, look. Your boy might like these, don’t you think? You could play together. (He holds up a pair of walkie talkies.)
Emma: I don’t-
Mr. Gold: No, please. They… They grow up so fast.
Emma: Thanks.
Mr. Gold: You enjoy these with your boy. Your time together is precious, you know? That’s the thing about children – before you know it, you lose them. The first few times I watched this episode, I didn’t think too much about this conversation other than that Rumple always regretted losing his son. However, when I saw episode 1×19 The Return and how Rumplestiltskin was responsible for breaking his deal with his son, I thought that Rumple must have some greater reason for following his son to a land without magic than just to be reunited. In The Return, when Rumple was questioning the BF about ways to find his son, he mentioned three things before he got to the dark curse: mages, realm-jumpers, and time-turners! I think the writers were deliberately establishing that time-turning is a real possibility on this show.
I recall a conversation in 2×4 The Crocodile between Rumplestiltskin and Smee, who wanted eternal life in exchange for a magical bean:
Rumpelstiltskin: I spin straw into gold. Price shouldn’t be a problem.
Smee: I don’t want money. I want eternal life.
Rumpelstiltskin: Only the Dark One has life eternal. So, you want more, son. What I can do, what about youth? Spin the clock back till you’re a little boy again?
Smee: Close enough. Deal.IMO, the writers intentionally explored the idea of Rumple turning Smee back into a little boy again, because that is the angle Rumple has been planning to use all along on his own son when he finds him again! So, perhaps there will be a clash of wills, such that Rumple wants to recapture Baelfire’s adolescence, but Baelfire will refuse to be turned back into a teenager again. (Also, if the theory is true that Baelfire really is Peter Pan, then Baelfire will be doubly opposed to the idea, because he’ll have already have spent centuries trapped in perpetual adolescence, which he finally managed to break free of by the time he met Emma in our world). 💡

Which is part of why I think it’d suck if August is made young again, because I don’t think that that should even be an option that exists for Rumple. I suppose it could still be a delightfully agonising storyline if it is an option, but he’s not able to do it. But I think it’s the perfect punishment for him as things already are, where he’s missed seeing his son grow up and can’t get those years back.

February 13, 2013 at 4:59 pm #172994RumplesGirlKeymasterI agree with Phee. If that is Rumple’s plan (and I think you’re on to something there Slurpeez) I think it needs to needs to fail. It can’t be a possibility. I really hope this is Gepetto recalling his boy as Pin. lays dying. (which I know is a terrible thing to say, but honestly the best shot for redemption with August may be sacrificing his life for Emma, given that he failed to protect her for so long)

If this is Rumple’s plan…to turn Bae back to 14 again…perhaps the fact that he finds out that Neal has a son of his own is what puts a stop to it. It was something he didn’t foresee. Also Rumple can spend the time he would have spent re-raising Bae…by begin a grandfather to Henry.
February 13, 2013 at 5:21 pm #173001PheeParticipantAnother thought I had just now, which is an extension of Rumple not deserving to get those years back with Bae…many would think that Geppetto doesn’t deserve to get those years back with Pinocchio either. Geppetto caught a fair bit of hate for the business with putting Pinocchio through the tree, so I can see all of those fans being very annoyed if he gets to go back to the start and have the life he always wanted with his son.

No worries, these things happen. We were all just frantic for info, so were being a bit impatient. 😉

I could totally deal with it if August is lying there dying, and as he fades away, he reverts to being his FTL self. It’d break my heart to see him die, because I’ve always loved me some August, but I’d rather the character be dead and gone, instead of running around SB as a kid. Dunno that they’d show youngPinocchio lying there dead though.
ETA that actually, that sorta gives me a bit of hope. Perhaps he reverts to his FTL self as he’s dying, which is when Blue steps in to save him and makes him an adult again in the process. OK, so I’m clutching at straws, but I’m gettin’ desperate here. 😆
February 13, 2013 at 5:30 pm #173004mich7ParticipantWhile I think the theories about him sacrificing himself do sound much more emotionally satisfying we still have the Blue Fairy with that freaking wand…and is Gepetto in this scene or is all they are showing Emma with him?
