Why did killing Zelena activate the Curse? And what happens now? Do they all go back in time? Is the Curse different since none of the objects were there?

And Glinda said something about “in many ways, it is your life now,” when she gave Zelena the pendant. So maybe she can’t be killed while the pendant exists anymore than Rumple could be killed (in a magical realm) while the dagger exists, except with that dagger.

I think she’s dead for good. I think she didn’t expect Rumple to kill her so she didn’t have time to plan. And she also had no power this time around. She’s dead.

I think Zelena’s mostly dead, but obviously some part of her is still alive through the pendant.
I do not, however, have any idea what this means. I’m so confused.
And annoyed for Belle’s sake. Why did he have to fake her out? She would’ve understood if he wanted to keep his dagger.

Maybe by saying he was going to avenge his son, when Rumple killed Zelena (whatever he did to her)…it triggered something to bring back his son.

No…I don’t think Rumple DID know. He just needed his vengeance. (Which in this case is pretty dang fair…probably the least objectionable murder he’s committed, if it weren’t for the lying to Belle bit.)

It’s possible Rumple thought shattering Zelena could kick start the time curse, but I think it’s far more likely he wanted to keep his last ‘deal’ with Bae. I just wish he hadn’t lied to Belle.
I watched the scene again when Glinda gave the pendant to Zelena. Glinda said:

Zelena’s life was her pendant, which is why her magic still managed to open up a time portal, carrying out Zelena’s wishes, even from the grave. Zelena’s pendant is like her horcux, to borrow a term from Harry Potter.

I can’t say for sure that we’re going to see Zelena again soon/this season. Her… life force may just have returned to Oz so she could rebuild herself. Or perhaps we will. Maybe we’ll see Regina make good on her threat to destroy Zelena if she wasted her second chance.
