Hey Guys I’m new to the site but I just wanted to post a small theory about Greg’s role in the show. I have a feeling he will somehow be helpful in making the magic bean stalks grow in storybrook. He will eventually figure out that magic exists there, but I have a feeling he will be helpful rather than a threat. The name Greg Mendel is similar to Gregor Mendel a scientist know as the “father of genetics” and his experiments involved creating hybrid pea plants by crossbreeding them. I think that Anton might have trouble growing the beans in storybrook and it could require some crossbreeding of magic and science and this would be where Greg comes in. Just a small theory based on names and a few hints from “Tiny”

Hi, welcome to the Once discussion! I love this theory, and I think it makes a ton of sense. 🙂

It makes sence and possibly gives a solution to the problem that the magic beans takes a 100 years to grow.

googling Greg Mendel again. Star Wars theme song has me stumped. I found that “Britain’s greatest sci-fi author” has a trilogy with a character, “Greg Mandel”, a psychic detective. I don’t know if there are any connections, but the character works in DNA, and the covers for the books look very space-agey.Keeper Nealfire's/Bae's scarf, Henry and Neal's bribery ice cream sundae, Baelfire's sword, the coconut map, and more.

YES YES YES! I GOT IT!
Germ Theory Poster! Well germs are spread by coughing and … sneezing!SNEEZY! He lost his memory and is bewondered by the whole of Storybrooke. He has seen some weird stuff, and even though the dwarves are looking after him, they can’t possibly watch him 24/7. So there is a good chance he might have told someone about the strange things happening to him, a friend, a colleague outside Storybrooke: Greg Mendell. After all Storybrooke is not completely severed from the world, calls are made outside Storybrooke (like when Sidney dug up dirt on Emma)
Another clue: Sneezy’s Storybrooke shop is called Dark Star Pharmacy. Hello Star Wars!March 19, 2013 at 6:51 pm #180930Marty McFlyParticipantwhy did he call regina about henry?? I don’t get it. he can’t possibly be on her side!

Well there’s two schools of thought that I’ve read so far.
The first is that he didn’t know that Regina = Mayor Mills, so he only had good intentions when he was trying to help Henry.
The second is that he did know Henry was Regina’s adopted son, but he’s trying to come across as an ally to Regina in order to find out where she has his dad.
I think both are possible, but right now I lean more towards the second theory because I would think that when he was off-screen that he would have found out what Mayor Mills was doing and more about her life. Then, again I guess Regina still hasn't found out that Neal is Henry's father, which seems weird to me.I guess she thinks he's only Rumple's son, and doesn't think it's odd that he's trying to help out the Charmings so much.
