I think the case of Kurt and Owen were special because they were the outsiders and hence their presence must have ‘bent’ the Storybrooke ‘reality’ accordingly. They have never picked up on something being wrong with the town except for it was in the wrong place…

There are a lot of similarities to S01E02 where you see the morning after the clock moves in this episode. Red and Granny, Archie, and Gold–I thought that there were more similaritiies in this episode to welcome to storybrooke, than in the pilot.
