In the beginning of the episode, Belle has a dream where Grumpy demands his axe back from Mr. Gold, who goes all Dark One.
Is the axe just from Belle’s dream, or is there something more? I know he was digging for fairy dust, but I thought it was interesting that Belle dreamt about that, specifically.

October 22, 2012 at 5:09 am #157526GaultheriaParticipantSince it was a dream, I don’t think they were talking about Grumpy’s axe…

Even if it was a dream from Belle, I think the axes are in Mr. Gold’s Pawn Shop. Everything else seems to be there.

Wasn’t it Prince Charming that recognized the dust?
October 22, 2012 at 3:03 pm #157600hmverhagenParticipantYeah, maybe they weren’t talking about Grumpy’s axe. Grumpy’s name used to be Dreamy. Maybe Belle thinks that her dream of being in love with Gold will be strangled because of his reluctance to be with her.

And second, I don’t think it’s too weird she dreamt of Grumpy looking for his axe. She knew him in FTL. She may know people are in the mine looking for dust. And I’m sure she’s noticed all the things in Mr. Gold’s shop and knows he has most people’s FTL possessions.
She had all the information and her dream just put it all together: That Rump hasn’t changed all that much since she last knew him.

Maybe it was just ‘don’t break the set’, but the mining down in the Storybrooke mines did not look very convincing to me at allll. xD It looked like they were either 1: not actually swinging those things very hard 2: it was just super fake looking or 3: that it was for some reason ineffective. ?
I’m wondering if this is foreshadowing that the dwarves will need their proper magic/FTL axes to be able to actually get to the fairy dust. Because I really think they’d be able to make it look at least a LITTLE more realistic, swinging those axes. They seemed to just kind of bounce off the rock without making any difference at all. Does anyone else think this?

Also remember that Belle was in the back of Gold’s shop when he was talking to the Charming’s maybe she had been accompanying him to the shop other times and heard similar conversations?
