This was a little disappointing.
I was excited and it was probably her stunt double because they made sure to never show her again and keep the camera far away.

Nice to see her again – even if it is only for a couple of seconds and she didn’t have any lines. It must have been a last minute decision to CGI her in because she wasn’t in the press release and there was absolutely no teasers from anyone about her being in the episode. You’d think that cameo would be something the press would have teased about.

I think it was just a tease to remind viewers that they haven’t forgotten about her and that she will be back.
The fact that Meghan was inserted, all dressed up like Red, I wonder if that could be evidence that when she does reappear properly further down the line, she’ll be in FTL flashback stuff, as well as present day? Like, they had her there in the costume and at the end of the day they were all, “OK we just need one more shot so we can stick you into 312.” Seems like a lot of effort to go to to dress her up JUST for that one shot.
Am I the only one thinking more “meh”? Sorry, but they failed with Red, and mentioning her and putting her as silent VIP extra into the background doesn’t do it for me. I miss her acting and interacting and not standing around. Sorry. I know, plenty of people might have still nagged, where Red is, but we can wonder as well, where is Tink, and the Blue Fairy, and Cinderella, Ariel, not to forget Mulan … It was mentioned, others showed up in other places, and one can discuss, why who was taken where back in the Enchanted Forest, but that was kinda the one situation when they would have had a good enough explanation for Red (and Granny) not being with the group already. LOL When the explanation would be easy they make it hard on themselves, but still fail to give a good enough reason, why Red was so absent before. I miss the women bonding we had in season 1, that is part of why I am missing Red (and more, but accepting that she is not a major character, so not expecting to see much of her story ever on the show on screen). Nope, I am not all thankful for this dry, lackluster fan cookie.

I actually had been expecting them to be CGI’d in, because they’d turn back into Fairies, and everyone else in that shot is the people who were standing at the town line, in the same positions, so Blue and Tink hovering where they’d been standing would have been perfect. It jarred more for me that those two were missing (and Jimminy too, I know we saw him later, but he’d been standing at the town line as well), rather than having Red inserted. I suspect they do have a plan for some substantial appearances for her towards season’s end, so they just wanted to keep her on the radar, so I’m fine with them having stuck her in this shot.
A set report from the filming of 316, where they were all shooting in the SB street all through the night, mentioned that there was apparently a wolf on set, so I don’t think this 312 token appearance will be the last time they do something like that. Like I said, just keeping the character on the radar in the mean time, even though the actress wasn’t available at the time they were shooting these eps.
