Guesses about this "Heart of Darkness"

Just from the title, I have four theories on what fairytale characters we’ll learn more about in this upcoming episode.

• Rumpelstiltskin, “The Dark One”
• Evil Queen’s history of turning to darkness
• Someone else from “those with the darkest hearts” who helped Evil Queen enact the curse
• Maleficent—no good reason, except that she’s a dark person

I think it’s about the EQ. It would be too much of a link to the hearts she collects! It doesn’t have to be the EQ’s heart that is meant, but maybe of someone who’s responsible for her becoming like this (and I don’t mean Snow xD)

I don't know if it's in this episode or in 18/19 or something but they have an episode about Regina where her mother appears. http://www.tvline.com/2012/01/once-upon-a-time-barbara-hershey-evil-queen-mother/ I think it may well be about how her influence turned the EQ the way she is.

I am not sure. I am going to guess it is a Snow centric episode just because we haven’t had one of those in awhile. Though it will probably be Rumpel.

When I first read the title for this episode, I automatically thought of the same-titled book by Joseph Conrad. Which then reminded me of the poem that T.S Elliot wrote based on the book entitled ‘The Wasteland.’

In that poem there is a certain passage, which I will henceforth quote.

“That corpse you planted last year in your garden,
Has it begun to sprout? Will it bloom this year?
Or has the sudden frost disturbed its bed?”

With these thoughts in mind, I’m pretty sure it will be a Snow/Evil Queen episode.
With references to perhaps – how Regina’s mother used magic to ensure Snow’s mothers death so that Regina might be placed favorably & therein marry Snow’s father. Because really, what mother doesn’t want the best for their child? ( Even if it means having to murder – which, well, Regina obviously inherited her malicious streak from her mother. )

Maybe it is about the time after Snow took the potion and she is not herself anymore.

The only reason i am guessing that though is because they haven’t had a Snow centric episode in awhile. Though heart of darkness does sound more like Rumpel or the Evil Queen.

I think it has to do with the after math of Snow drinking Rumple’s potion. I think it’s going to change her into some sort of “dark” Snow. That would parallel nicely to what’s going on in SB with MM being arrested for supposed murder.

I love the idea of Regina’s mom killing Snow’s mom! I never thought about that before. They haven’t told us about what happened to Snow’s mom yet. And it woul make sense. We’re gonna find out about Regina’s past in the episode “stable boy”.

I have always thought that Snow’s mother died in childbirth. Though maybe Regina's mother had her killed especially if she wants her daughter to marry Snow's father.
