I like the name “Zades” better than HaLena.

I saw “Death and Taxes” as a potential ship name, somewhere.

Is it because her birthday happens to fall on Tax Day?

I mean, considering who each one of them is, and what their issues are, on paper they’re kind of a perfect match. Not the type who’d really have a healthy relationship, but there’s stuff they could bond over. If they’d taken the time to show them actually fall for each other, I could get behind it, but this whole thing with him falling in true love after one bike ride and then deciding that they belong together forever is ridiculous. That being said, if Zelena falls for him and decides to stay in the Underworld, and it gets her permanently off my screen, then I wouldn’t be overly upset about that.

It actually reminds me of the Underwoods from House of Cards. I mean, they’re both pretty terrible people, but for some reason (I haven’t watched the latest season), throughout seasons 1 and 2 they actually worked as a couple. Like, you could see they loved each other in a really weird, demented way and sought to seek power for themselves.

No one said only good people fall in love and stay together…I’m sure there a ton of not-so-nice people IRL that have spouses/significant others that love them. HAHA.

The Underwoods are a good analogy.

Zelena and Hades could be well written and interesting; they could potentially be the first successful villain/villain couple. Other villain/villain couples have died or someone left the other. If you’re gonna be “terrible” then you might as well be with someone who is as terrible as you, who doesn’t pressure you to change, who accepts you without hesitation, who doesn’t put constraints on your relationship–sorta like Gareth and Madelena from Galavant.  It’s pretty telling that the other major couple who got screen time or had a significant heart to heart this week were Rumbelle, the very couple who are putting pressure on each other, who aren’t accepting the other without hesitation, and who are putting constraints on their relationship.

So I am rooting for this relationship.  Although like many others, I do feel like Hades is STILL playing Zelena.  It’s so hard to tell!  And I feel really bad for Zelena.  But boy was she strong.  She turned him down twice!  It would have been so easy for her to love this guy.  The acting was great, it made up for the fast true love nonsense.  And how about them falling off the bike…and being like out of breath and Hades asking if Zelena “wanted to go again.”  Oh dear….But both are so delightfully terrible people that it was very different for this show, and I liked it.  It was rushed, but it was cool, and I love that it was way more complicated than I thought it would be.  But I do think, Hades will burn her in the end, and Zelena may even help save everyone.

I *really* *really* don’t want Hades to be playing Zelena. I’ve watched that final scene between them so many times now and either Hades is truly head over heels in love or he’s a better manipulator than Rumple.

God, when I say it like that, it’s very possible he’s playing her. (nope. I have #hope) (What’s happening to me, guyz)

You know, it’s just also the way Greg Germann is acting that makes it tough to tell.  He’s playing the part well, and at this point, it’s too difficult to know for sure what his true intentions are.  In one sense, his heart did seem to flicker.  And he did seem to be enjoying himself with her on that bike.  And then he did make the UW look like storybrooke for her (allegedly).  But, he also disappeared when Zelena took the Scarecrow’s brain, then was fairly persistent and quick to declare it true love and try and get that kiss.  And then he was very menacing when he told her she would regret what she had done before poofing out of Oz.  My guess, he does care about her, but cares more about his revenge on Zeus.  And in the UW now, he still wants to be buddy buddy with Zelena, not only because he likes her, but also because he may need her baby for the time travel curse.  I think his first plan will be to take Belle’s baby, but he needs a backup plan, and I think he would burn her for baby pistaccio if he had to.  It’s sad because finally Zelena is putting love for her baby over revenge on her sister, but Hades isn’t there yet I don’t think.  It’s complicated and I love it.
