I think it is possible that Baelfire has become a pirate. I still think he is Peter Pan…but I think that Peter has become a pirate. We see this in Hook…we also see it in the official sequel to Peter Pan and we see a form of it in the mini series Neverland.
In the mini series Neverland, Hook is a caretaker of Peter and the whole relationship has a very Oliver Twist feel to it. Peter and his friends are pickpockets that bring the booty back to Hook. In this episode we almost hear a little of Oliver Twist in Rumple’s voice when he says, “Please Sir.” Hook is very “step-fatherly” to Peter in Neverland as Hook was in love with Peter’s mother. There was also a female pirate who was the top pirate in the movie. Hook ends up hooking up with this lady…and she ends up dying at the end but she is a powerful force for most of the movie.
So what does this have to do with Baelfire. Well…Baelfire’s mother became a pirate who hooked up with Hook. This makes Hook a sort of Step-father to Baelfire. Baelfire’s mother, Milah, dressed very similar to the female pirate in Neverland. Hook started out loving Peter in the Neverland movie/series and then they became arch enemies. I think something similar happened to Baelfire. So…yes, I think that Baelfire is somewhat of a bad boy.
In the movie, Hook, Granny Wendy tells the grown up Peter that he has become a pirate. And in the official sequel to Peter Pan, Peter in scarlett…Peter does not realize that he is being mentored by Hook himself…until Peter find himself very much the pirate dressed in scarlet. There is also a mystery box in that book that has of all things in it…a silver trophy…there is a silver bowling tropny on Neal Cassidy’s desk.
This is what I think is going to happen. I think that Gold is going to pour his magic “Go find them” potion on Baelfire’s ball…and Emma is going to follow the ball out of town. I think the ball is going to lead her to Neal, who is in New York…and maybe even at Coney Island. I think Neal has been involved in underground activities where he has a lower position such as janitor or caretaker and he is locating high priced items that are stolen and fenced…items that are possibile would be diamonds, jewelry, watches and possibly art.
I think that Neal is Baelfire and that it is very likely that he has forgotten some of his memories…I could be wrong on this but it is my gut feeling because of some of the double speak that has occured in relation to clues. I think Neal could even be involved in trickery…illusion…not real magic but fake magic.
I think it is possible that Neal/Baelfire is the one who wrote and illustrated Henry’s book. I think at heart Baelfire is an artist like his mother. There are tons of clues that Neal is Baelfire but some of the biggest clues of all are underground….on the subway tracks. Find the sites that have all the MTA public subway art…there are so many Storybrook connections that I could fill an entire blog with just them.

Neal has quite a few things hanging beside the door of his apartment…a pocket watch, a monacle, a fishing lure, a claw (bear?) of some type…and something else that could possibly be a bean. I wonder if these are souvenirs of his conquests.

I don’t know, he looked mighty spiffy in his opening scene in “Broken.” And he’s working with August to help with the curse, so I think he’s cleaned up his act. Or at the very least, some of his act.

August had a metal claw necklace. The long item below it looks to be a fishing lure. And there is a metal item that is too difficult to make out.
The top middle item is a pocket watch. There are two items hanging below the pocket watch. One item is light colored with a string or wire tied around it. The other item is dark colored with a wire around it. They look like stones but they could possibly be beans. The top item on the right looks to be some sort of tiny shell or coral necklace. The item below it is a monacle or a small magnifying glass.

I still think Baelfire will ultimately be Peter Pan. In the Peter Pan story, Peter comes to the nursery looking for his shadow…it is a nice twist on the story if in OUAT they have the shadow come looking for the boy. It will be interesting to see how they play this story out…but I’m still holding onto Bae ultimately becoming Peter Pan.
