Just how accurate is Henry’s book anyway? Obviously more accurate than our versions of the tales but doesn’t Henry’s book say Hansel and Gretel were abandoned by their father in the woods when, in reality, he was kidnapped by Regina so that she could use Hansel and Gretel to get the magic apple from the blind witch?

What I meant was that everyone in Storybrooke looks exactly how they looked in the book. Snow, Charming, Regina, even the picture of younger Baelfire is 100% them. It’d seem weird if they just made Rump the only exception.
And are you sure? I thought Henry’s book was fairly truthful to what happened since he knows so much from it that aren’t in the classic tales (Like how he knows about Regina casting the curse, Rumpel being able to see the future, etc)

Yes, In the Hansel and Gretel episode, “True North”, when Emma asks what the book says about Hansel & Gretel’s father, Henry replies, “Just that he abandoned them.” So it seems there are some things missing from the book. We also know Pinocchio’s story wasn’t originally in the book until August added it in Storybrooke. So the book appears to be a very good guide but with a few key pieces missing. I’m hoping we eventually find out why!
