Alright, so I was informed that season seven is supposed to pick up with Henry fully-grown, married to Cinderella with a 10 year old daughter, Lucy and cursed and the current present day is supposed to be…September of 2017…how?
If it is September of 2017 then that would make Henry 16 as he was 10 when we first met him in episode 1×01, Pilot. Technically, it was October 18th, 2011 as in episode 1×02, The Thing You Love Most, it takes place in one full day picking up right where the Pilot leaves off with time moving in Storybrooke after Emma decided to stay, and The Thing You Love Most mind you took place on a Thursday as Regina states toward the end of the episode and at the end of the Pilot that’s to take place just the day before episode 1×02, Emma states to Regina that yesterday was her birthday, the day Henry found her and I say it’s the 18th only because of the series premiere which was on October 23rd of 2011 and Henry was given the book by Snow in October of 2011 as stated in episode 3×11, Going Home.
Anyway, when Henry leaves home in 7×01, Hyperion Heights, it’s stated that he just graduated High School, so if he is indeed 18, then that would put that opening scene around the summer, no later that the fall of 2019, then a few years would pass, he meets Cinderella falls in love, gets beat up a bit by Lady Tremaine and Drizella and other people, (I’m guessing) and then they get married, have Lucy, ten years pass and then everyone’s cursed and living in Hyperion Heights, so unless there was some weird alternate reality/time travel mishap, which I hope is not going to happen, (You never know with OUaT these days), then that would place present day events in the FUTURE. So, let’s say three years pass before Henry meets Cinders, a year of torment and trials before they can finally be together and get married and then they’re pregnant, have Lucy and another ten years on that before they’re cursed…again, this could possibly put them at…September of 2034, if they’re not playing with time again with it being accelerated in certain realms. This is a STRONG guesstimate as to where they may REALLY be in present day and I have no clue about spoilers, but the show seems to follow the same storylines and conflicts when it comes to true lovers lol. Hope all of you are well.

I agree though. It is not 2017, it is more like 2019, but the writers don’t keep track of their timeline, so Henry was 18 when he jumped to the fast time realm and it was 2019, it might have been a little bit more time before Regina, Hook, and Rumpel jumped to where Henry was though, so it might be 2020. Henry aged really fast in the other realm, so he is like 35 while everyone else remained the same age.

Right. Based on what they’ve said before, strange as it is, the last 6 Seasons didn’t show span 6 years in the show. I remember them saying during S4A that in the show’s timeline it was still early 2013 before the movie Frozen had been released.

oh I have been suspecting that for YEARS. I even made a thread about it years ago:
I still think “our world” is really OUR world (the world of the viewers and the actors) whereas the land without magic is another fictional land of story. And now that we know the Land Without Magic does have a very small amount of magic or once had magic at some point (according to the episode that had the dragon, where Regina split herself for the first time) i think it’s a good idea.
But to answer the question of what year it is…. idk and I don’t think the writers do either and honestly I think it’s one of those things in ouat you just gotta roll over and accept lol can’t think too hard with this show

I think it is around fifteen years since Henry left town at eighteen.
I think it is 2017. It may be that Henry left SB when he was only 16 or 17. He could have finished high school early if he went to summer school and opted not to pursue an advanced diploma but just did the minimum requirements for graduation.

As far as I remember, there’s been something in the past few episodes that had a 2017 date on it. I’ll try to find what that was.
I don’t see how a date of 2017 in Hyperion Heights could fit the timeline, given the following dates have been established in the show as canon:
1. They established in the show that the newborn Emma came through the portal in 1983, at the same time Storybrooke was created.
2.They also said Henry was born 18 years later, which would be 2001.
3. Henry went to find Emma in Season One when he was ten, so that was in 2011.
4.They stated in the Season Six finale that Henry was fourteen, so Season Six supposedly ended in 2015.
5. Even if Henry finished high school at 17, that means he left Storybrooke in 2018. (I can’t see Emma and Regina letting him go off on his own if he was only 16 or younger.)
So it had to be after 2017 before Henry even left home. Also, Rumple and Belle left Storybrooke when Gideon was one year old, so that would have been in 2016, But they didn’t go to The Edge of Realms and experience the different time flow there until Gideon was much older – about 16 or so, at least, which would be in 2031 *IF* they spent the intervening 16 years in realms where time passed at the same rate as here. That would then fix a limit on when Rumple went to EF 2.0 just before Henry met Cinderella before the ball.
Of course, we don’t know how many different realms Henry visited before he met Cinderella or how time ran in those realms. We also don’t know what happened after he met Cinderella and if he, Cinderella, and Lucy were someplace where their time moved more slowly than Stroybrooke time, but, the time in Hyperion Heights can’t be earlier than 2018, if Hyperion Heights is in the same world as Storybrooke, which Regina’s adoption papers seem to indicate must be the case. If Lucy aged someplace where time was the same as in Storybrooke, that would add another ten years to the minimum elapsed time and bring us up to at least 2028, or more likely early in the 2030s, which would be consistent with Gideon’s age.
