In Greek mythology, a phoenix or phenix (Ancient Greek φοίνιξ phóinīx) is a long-lived bird that is cyclically regenerated or reborn. Associated with the sun, a phoenix obtains new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessor. The phoenix was subsequently adopted as a symbol in Early Christianity.
In his study of the phoenix, R. van der Broek summarizes, that, in the historical record, the phoenix “could symbolize renewal in general as well as the sun, Time, the Empire, metempsychosis, consecration, resurrection, life in the heavenly Paradise, Christ, Mary, virginity, the exceptional man, and certain aspects of Christian life
Ok, sorry I don’t know where to post this please move or let me know so I can cancel it. In any case I wonder since Henry was born in Phoenix if this had to do with the above quote just an idea ❓
Wasn’t Henry Sr heart throw in ashes? ❓
Didn’t Henry Sr lose his kingdom but Regina rebuilt Henry’s little playground castle ❓

Van der Broek’s work on the Phoenix, the fact that it is now crossing into my life as a Oncer is scary. The phoenix is a big part of my Master’s Thesis and I kinda hate it at present. Stupid bird.
For me, it is deliberate but in the way you might be thinking. I think Henry being born in Phoenix is the start of Emma fulfilling her destiny–without Henry she would have never made it to SB, which is in essence a rebirth or renewal for herself and all the characters of FTL. I think Henry being born there is a symbol of what is to come.

Maybe it is like the blood thing with Voltmor that will attach the shadow to PP and let the lost boys go. Wasn’t there an article saying that the Lost Boys will be regular too ❓

The phoenix in HP (Fawks) was an actual phoenix who burst into flames and came back to life, cold carry heavy loads, and tears had healing powers. It was a traditional phoenix bird.
The lost boys we saw will probably be guest stars during certain episodes, but not regulars like GG and Josh and JMo and the rest.

I’m not sure in what way Emma is “reborn” but I suppose you could say going to jail set her on a new path towards being the savior. Definitely the Henry Sr/Jr. thing was sort of a rebirth (though not literally).
There could be some thing with PP’s reason for needing Henry, being that Shadow PP needs to replace himself with Henry’s shadow to be the new Shadow PP, so Henry himself has to die. Or something like that.

October 17, 2013 at 2:36 pm #216677HappyEndingsSpectatorI think this will play now in NL, with Henry.
