I agree i thought the no, she’s my mom right after Archie ran up was really random. I mean he has been not caring about her for a long time. Maybe saying something like kill her, wait, kill her, then no she’s still my mom.
I hate Henry calling her mom to her face though i also agree that it makes sense that he was just trying to stop her from killing Charming. I still don’t want Henry spending time with Regina. I think that is ridiculous. She is a dangerous, psycho, mass murderer that keeps trying to kill members of his family, he should not be spending time with her no matter what sort of redemption goes on.

Since when does he call her Mom??? That has bugged me from the start. I realize that he is a young boy, and once faced with the possibility of the entire town killing the woman who raised him he realized, “hey, I actually do care about this person”. But I think they should have had him express that a little more instead of jumping right in. It seemed to me a little rushed. If I was Emma and he had said that I would have been like “What?! Are you KIDDING me?!” He should have said something like “Kill her? Wait a minute, she’s evil, but she did raise me…I don’t want her dead Emma.” Am I the only one?
As Regina said at the beginning of the series, she changed his diapers and soothed his fevers. Just because she was a strict mom and an evil queen doesn’t mean that she must be killed. My grandmother is wacko too, but I wouldn’t want to wish an untimely death on her. Both Grandma and Regina have their good sides.

True, but remember Henry didn’t discover any of this about her until less than a year ago (a month before MM gave him the storybook). Before that, he knew only that she had taken care of him for his entire life. I think it’s a testament to his own moral sense that he has been as firm in resisting her as he has while still feeling a natural filial bond to her – you can’t just switch off a lifetime of emotion in a few months.
Also, I think calling her “Mom” in both scenes was an important dramatic device to emphasize the enormity of his break with her in the final scene. It was so much more powerful than it would have been if he had been saying all along “I don’t like you” and then said “I still don’t like you” when he saw her trying to kill James and he realized Snow and Emma were gone. We had to see a change in Henry’s attitude toward Regina at that moment. Yes, in the past year he had learned of the things she had done but now he was seeing it first-hand and now Emma and Snow were potentially lost. Henry played his “nuclear option”; threatening never to see Regina again is his ultimate weapon to compel her not to kill Snow and Emma.

I totally agree that Henry was trying to stop Regina and in that it works. In only that does it work. I still hated it and hope that is the last time he calls her that. At least he called Emma his mom in the next sentence. It was a dramatic moment, but it just grated on me a bit especially since we know we aren’t going to be seeing Emma and Henry for awhile. I was looking forward to seeing Emma figure out how to be a mom.

Having said that, I dont think he had really thought through exactly what would happen when the curse was lifted & after all the Mob was what, an hr ❓ or 2 at most after the curse was lifted, that’s a lot of change in a very short time for a kid (Or Emma lol 😉 ) to have take in.Another thought- we haven’t seen the ‘final battle’ beginning yet, so who or what will that be against if not Regina????

Perhaps, but we don’t have to worry with that blasted wraith sucking on our faces 😮 (that sounded worse in my head, think I’ll keep it there for the time being…)

I blame her mother… 😉
October 6, 2012 at 3:13 am #155638obisgirlParticipantRemember what the Evil Queen said to Snow in “An Apple As Red as Blood?”
She said that her body will her tomb (although she didn’t mention it) was probably still conscious about what was going on around her. I think Henry was too in the finale.
