I know she was just playing him at the ball, but does any one have the feeling that Henry sr. and Cora might have been an okay match if she hadn’t ripped her heart out?

Yes, I think that she and Regina are alike in that they both caused their own misery. I think if Cora would have learned that just being Henry’s wife or just being Rumple’s wife were okay instead of wanting even more power, she could have been happy.

I don’t think that Henry loved her nor she loved him, but I think that he respected and was charmed by her. I also think that he was a nice and pleasant enough guy that they could have made it work even if it wasn’t true love.

I think he was intrigued by her spark and forthrightness, even from the start. I think she could have loved him, had her pride and lust for power not prevented it. I think he at least respected her, if not loved her. Probably loved her more than he would’ve loved a stuck up princess. He didn’t have much of a choice about marriage, like most royals. (The idea of marrying for love even in royal circles has only really come into play in the real world in the past 50 years or less!)

On the one hand we say, this show puts true love very high, in my words would say it is a celebration of true love, but when it comes to some people it is okay, if they accept, that they might never find it, and have to live with the next best thing? What decides that, fate, destiny? I am just wondering about concepts of love. No offense.

As Swanning-off think Henry Sr. seemed intrigued by the miller’s daughter from the start, and he was charmed by her during the ball. Not sure if it was love, but interest, attraction. Possible they could have grown on each other, if Cora wouldn’t have ripped her own heart out, but would it have been ever true love? Could she have been truly happy with Henry Sr.?

    ¯\_(?????? ?)_/¯

I almost felt sorry during this episode wondering if Regina was actually Rumpel’s kid instead of Henry’s because young Henry and Henry senior, are not bad guys. He seemed decent, even for a young prince and I think Cora (if she hadn’t been corrupted by dark magic) probably would have grown to love Henry.
