I, personally, don’t really like the idea of Bae being Peter. It just doesn’t seem to fit his personality. Peter is impulsive and childish but Bae seems more cautious and rather mature for his age. Not only that, but, besides the faeries themselves, Peter is arguably the most magical person in Neverland (he is the only boy who can fly, after all). That doesn’t seem to fit with Bae, to me.
Yes, I can see arguments for Bae being Peter or the Wizard from the Wizard of Oz, but I’m not really fond of either idea because I feel it would be a cheat if the the bean took him some place that there was magic.
That’s also an excellent point about it not really fitting Bae’s personality. Not that people can’t change like I expect I’m sure he has, but it would be strange, I think if he went from a cautious, mature boy to a boy that refused to grow up, then assuming he’s Henry’s father, which I'm 99% sure he must be based on the most recent TV Guide spoilers, turning into a man that acts like a boy who then becomes a mature an adult by the end. It just seems like a lot of personality changes for one character even if he is several hundred years old if he were Peter Pan even his dad. Maybe if he was just Peter Pan, but since I don’t think he’s just going to be Peter Pan, I think they’ll just have him be Bae, Henry’s dad, and whatever alias he’s calling himself on Earth.
I’m rooting for Baelfire to be Henry’s father too. It just makes too much sense to not be true. And it would add an extra element of mystery to Henry’s character. Henry could quite possibily have two of the most powerful parents on the show. Emma is the savior, and the curse is actually about Baelfire, so that makes him significant as well. His parents will have a direct connection to not only the curse, but the center of the story. So, with Henry having such powerful parents, what does that make Henry? He could end up being this story’s Luke Skywalker for all we know.
Yes, obviously Henry is already a very special kid, but I do think that it would give him even more of a purpose in the story if Bae turns out to be his father and Rumple his grandfather. One of the reasons is that I just feel like there would be a nice balance/symmetry between the family unit of Emma, Bae, and Henry.
For instance, right now at the IMDb forums, there’s a lively debate going on in whether or not Bae’s or Henry’s way is better in dealing with their respective evil parents. I think both kids are right in how they handled it because they’re not exactly the same situations, but I was thinking about how if Bae turns out to be Henry’s dad, they can help each other gain some kind of perspective or balance I guess. I’m not saying that Henry has to ever forgive Regina or be a part of helping redeem her, but I think it would be wonderful to see father and son bond eventually over the situations that they were put into to. Maybe Bae could help Henry see that Regina might be evil, but she wasn’t always that way, and Henry could help Bae come to terms with his own father.
Plus, I think that they could all help each other with the terrible situations life dealt them. Bae and Henry could help Emma understand more what Emma’s parents were trying to do for her since the former was actually abandoned by his parent, perhaps by both his parents, and the latter completely understands why his mom gave him up for adoption.
Of course, they would all give each other the family that each of them wants but doesn’t have yet.

Think about it. The three main factions in Stroybrook are the Charmings, Regina, and Gold. With Henry considered in all three of them, they would have to be careful about what they did to each other so that Henry wouldn’t be caught in the middle.
September 24, 2012 at 9:21 pm #154490marilouParticipantFaux Pax, how does Gold relate to henry? are we just already assuming that BAE is henry's father? or is it something else that i’ve missed?
September 24, 2012 at 9:42 pm #154491faux paxParticipantI was just going with the assumption that Bae is his dad.
October 6, 2012 at 1:39 pm #155677lilredParticipantSo – someone posted on Tumblr that Ginnifer Goodwin gave away who Henry’s dad is in an interview with Criag Ferguson. At first I called bluff, remembering that the only main cast member aware of who he is was Jennifer Morrison. But then remembered that they have already filmed episode six – she does probably know now!
Looking for the video online, but haven’t found anything yet. Does anyone watch the show? Can anyone confirm that it was a ‘give away’?
If you don’t mind being spoiled – apparently the give away confirmed to this person that the dad is Baelfire….like Henry having a random flame on the tip of his arrow in the promotional photos wasn't enough. 😀
October 6, 2012 at 2:00 pm #155681antbeeParticipantI really wish Tumblr was back online now. She doesn’t really come out and say it, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yztW5gq2DaM, but at around the 4:49 mark, Craig Ferguson asks Ginnifer Goodwin if Rumple is his own grandfather, and she starts laughing and saying that he sort of is.
It seems like a giveaway to me but that could be because I’m so obsessed with finding out for sure. 😆 It might not be, but if it is a giveaway, I think it’s so small that casual fans wouldn’t get it anyways, so it’s not like she revealed something really major by accident.
October 6, 2012 at 2:15 pm #155685lilredParticipantJust watched it: I didn’t really take it as a giveaway – but maybe just because there seem to be so many other ‘hints’ that go in that direction that are stronger. Rumple being his own grandfather doesn’t really mean he’s Henry’s – just that he’s pretty much capable of anything on this show (and has been around long enough to lap generations).
October 6, 2012 at 4:07 pm #155701hjbauParticipantI am my own grandpa.
October 6, 2012 at 4:53 pm #155703chexmex325ParticipantJust saw this on another ONCE website…interesting 😉
I don’t know if this is too spoilery for this thread, so I’ll proceed with caution.
“A major recurring guest star role with an option for next season is being cast, a character named Barrett. He’s in his 30s, kind and smart, but also has a very dark side and has beliefs and a way of life that he will fight fiercely to defend.”
http://oncenews.net/new-character-being-cast-for-episode-11/
I think this casting call sounds a lot like they’re looking for an adult Bae/maybe Henry’s father.
My theory is that (like the cast has been saying) we’ll meet Henry’s father in episode 6-Tallahassee, but that we’ll only meet him in a flashback…that maybe we’ll only see what happened between them 10 years ago and then in a later episode we’ll see him come to Storybrooke (or something) as an adult.October 6, 2012 at 5:03 pm #155707lilredParticipantI don’t think it’s likely that Barret is Henry’s dad since they’ve already filmed the episode he’s revealed in and have only just started looking for this role.
Could possible be Baelfire – I’m going to link to another discussion page for this, just because I don’t think we’re allowed to discuss it openly here – casting etc. for future episodes being spoilers. But definitely share this idea with us on this thread:

Then we won’t have to worry about spoiling for others.
