So its plausible then? Henry has other motives than helping Regina… This season is just the season of shady. Shady Hook, Shady Rump, Shady Sarah, Shady Henry. No wonder Blue is coming back.

Oh it’s totally where they’re headed. The deleted scene of Henry and Rumple from 4×2 was a total set-up for showing Henry has magical ability of his own. He’s now apprentice to the dark one. He’s observing magic from Rumple and Regina. Again, Rumple mentioned that Henry was born of light and dark magic, just as Peter Pan said in season 3. Henry’s going to be tempted by the dark force. Oh wait, wrong story. Also, when Henry was born the lights flickered, just as when baby Neal was born. I think that means ultimately light magic will win out in Henry though.

This is not about his family tree. Neal was related to both Pan and Rumple and yet he remained a good man throughout his life.

Except that Neal used dark magic to bring Rumple back from the dead.

I think Rumple sees through Henry’s awkward con.  I think he got a glimpse of Henry’s devious side, and he liked it.  Perhaps Henry is being chosen as an “apprentice” the way that Regina was chosen.  I think here (especially in the context of the sorcerer’s apprentice), apprentice means more than “shop boy” or “helper”.  Henry showed Rumple that he’s ready to explore his dark side, and Rumple is ready to exploit it.  This is a relationship he never had with Neal.  Neal rejected Rumple’s darkness.

Now that Henry’s growing up, they’re not going to cut him as much slack as they did before.
