Also caught that hint about August being Pinocchio it seems like something with his story was changed or left out, guess that would answer what August did to the book wouldn’t it!
Yes, I believe the powers that be have said he was adding his own story when he edited the book, didn’t they? So now if they’re talking about something in Pinocchio’s story being different, that would fit.

Also, the clip of MM and Regina echoes the words that Maleficent warned would happen: Regina has a hole in her heart that cannot be filled.
Nice catch! Loved seeing Mary stand up to Regina like that, but she did it so calmly, and offered forgiveness, so Regina couldn’t unleash any fury on her. Nicely played, Mary.

Finally, I wonder if Mr. Gold is declining Emma’s request to gain custody of Henry because he wants Emma to put her trust in August instead. In episode 19, Mr. Gold said that Emma trusted August, and perhaps Mr. Gold hopes that Emma will start to trust August even more, which will help her believe faster.
Yep, I definitely think he wants her to go to August, and I’m guessing that’s what she does, because she ends up with him later in the ep. I can’t freaking wait for the Emma/August scenes in this ep!

Wow. The Pinocchio story actually looks pretty interesting. If the writers play their cards right, it can turn into a brilliant story. 😉
I’m glad Mr. Gold turned down Emma’s case. It’s better that she fights this battle on her own. Well, I guess it won’t be entirely on her own. She eventually seeks the help of August. Another reason why I’m glad Emma won’t be working with Mr. God is because it would be ridiculously out of character for her. Didn’t she just get finished accusing him of kidnapping Kathryn a week ago? Why is she seeking the help of someone who she suspects kidnapped one of her friends? Come on now Emma. 😆
The scene between MM and Regina actually made me have more sympathy for Regina rather than Mary Maragert. However, I’m not sure if that was the writers intention.
I think it’s because the stakes are so high again, she had Gold help her for sheriff that worked all be it with shady methods but she beat Regina. So the next time with MM the stakes are higher but she needed to win & even though she knew what aligning herself with Mr. Gold again entailed she does it because she can’t afford to lose. So now with arguably even higher stakes & again in a position where she has to win the only way she knows how to do that against Regina at this point is with Mr. Gold’s help; bottom line she’s lacking the confidence in her own power it’s the same reason she looks so overwhelmed when she realizes its on her to save everyone she hasn’t completely realized what she’s capable of.

Yes, I think Mr. Gold wants Emma to stand on her on two feet. As Jefferson said, “Isn’t it about time?” Emma has refused to open her eyes to what is truthfully going on in front of her. She needs to believe before anything else can happen with Henry. She needs to realize what she herself is capable of as the savior and as a mother.

April 27, 2012 at 6:23 pm #144311theladybelleParticipantI am really looking forward to the next episode!
The scene with Mary Margaret and Regina was great. I like how MM is very… perceptive, you know? She sees that Regina isn’t pure evil(but hey, there aren’t any pure evil characters on this show anyway), she understands that Regina is lonely, and that’s what’s behind the evil things she does.
And I just love the scene with Geppeto and Pinocchio! It was just so good, and I really like the music in that scene too. I like how they portray Pinocchio. He really loves his father and doesn’t want him to sacrifice his life so Pinocchio can survive. And it also reminds me why I think Pinocchio is one of the most heart-breaking movies of all time. These two people going through so much to get back to each other and not wanting to lose each other.
I am also looking forward to how the custody battle will go. I agree with what was said on the podcast for The Return. Maybe neither Emma or Regina will get custody of Henry. That could be. I can easily imagine that the two would just keep throwing accusations at each other and in the end put themselves in a bad light. And it’s pretty clear to me that Mr. Gold will play a significant role, even if he at first denies wanting to do anything.April 27, 2012 at 7:01 pm #144313celesstarrParticipant@Midnight Dreary wrote:

I think Emma doesn’t trust Mr. Gold, but does trust his results.

Mr. God? Not to sound blasphemous, but you’d be right about that! 😀

I so didn’t mean to say that, but it’s exactly how I feel. 😆
April 27, 2012 at 7:24 pm #144316hjbauParticipantI actually think that Gold just wants Emma to believe because then the curse would be at least partially broken and maybe then he could go look for Bae. And maybe that could give him his magic back. It doesn’t seem that he cares about Emma or Henry or even Regina except when he is using them for his own purposes which is to find Bae.

I don’t think it’s because he wants his powers back. We saw in “The Return” that he was willing to give up his powers. And besides, he created the curse so that he would be sent a land without magic. He new his powers would be taken away from him. So, he clearly doesn’t want his powers back. I think he wants the curse lifted so that he can leave Storybrooke and look for his son. The curse won’t allow him to leave Storybrooke.
