I refuse to accept that August is Pinocchio. We were mislead to believe he was Bae, and they’ve given way to many obvious clues that he’s Pinocchio for him to actually be Pinocchio. August states, “Do I even look like him at all?” That right there, once again, confirms that these writers aren’t going to make him Pinocchio. I don’t know who but I have yet another theory:

There are too many donkey references to be ignored so I’m still leaning toward the story of Pinocchio, but what about Lampwick? I’m going to attach all the screen shots I took instead of typing everything…

Well I can only attach 3 so I’ll post more.

Ooo! Good point. August did make a point of saying that he didn’t even look like Baelfire. So, obviously the writers are telling us that they play close attention to the physical similarities between the actors. I hope this is a sign that he’s not Pinocchio, but it seems so….inevitable. πŸ™

I agree, I don’t think he’s Pinnochio. Both the fact that he looks nothing like him and Pinnochio would have no reason I can see for acting the way he does (not to mention how he could age when the others didn’t, I’ve never liked the idea of him being from magic wood) and also that it’s too obvious if he is. I at least will be highly disappointed if August turns out to be Pinnochio.

And Lampwick is an interesting theory. I have a feeling he’s someone we haven’t even thought of yet, but I like the idea at least.

It does seem inevitable that Henry is Pinocchio, but i am still hoping he isn’t. It just really seems like all of the silliness that is going around about the character is going to be true. That he is turning into wood. That he could go through the wardrobe because he was made from wood. That he went through ahead of Emma. That he is the seven year old boy. I don’t want any of that to be true and it seems like it is going to be.

I don’t want any of it to be true either and to me it doesn’t seem like it has to be. There could be some completely different reason for everything that we just haven’t thought of yet. For all we know he could be the Fisher King (Arthurian legend) or some other character who was ill or just… something :/

I guess I just don’t see what’s so bad about it. I mean, they turned annoying Disney Snow White into a butt-kicking renegade and no one has a problem with that.

I think turning the cutsy Disney Pinocchio into August would be kind of awesome. πŸ™‚ If he also was sent to our world 28 years ago, he’s had nearly three decades to turn into his own person … a writer, a motorcycle aficienado, a person who’s spent all the time away from his beloved parent and his very world, a person who might have known that he could, one day, be killed by the curse’s effects, a person who knows exactly who to blame for the curse (Regina and Rumple). A man who knows perfectly well that this world he’s in thinks FTL and its people are nothing but silly stories for children. And he’s the only one who knows otherwise.

Cutsy, heck. I think that Pinocchio couldn’t be blamed for taking names and kicking butt.

This is an interview with Jane Espenson. Watch when she mentions the stranger she says August J. Booth (not W) but quickly corrects herself but still has a smirk as if she almost gave something away. She also says to pay close attention to his name which is obvious but reassuring that my hours of research aren’t a complete waste of time. πŸ™‚
