I’m calling it now: the one way to keep Hook in Storybrooke without dying is for him to switch sides before the end of the season. I’m almost certain that he will because it’s a lot safer bet for Emma to have a pirate on her side when taking down Cora.
Plus, Colin’s a regular and he can’t keep on the whole vengeance thing forever.

I mean, if nothing else, Rumple and Regina love their kids, while Cora and Hook seem to only care about their own means to an end. It would be interesting to see Hook make a switch, but I don’t see myself rooting for him.

Colin is so good in this role, and Hook is so deep. There is so much they can do with him; just as much as with Rumple. Getting to see all of that happen would rock.
I don’t know if they’re going to do this, but later in the series, with their back stories, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Hook and Rumple become allies. They may or may not go there who knows, but I can see it possible.

He would’ve preferred to team up with Emma because she was heading to Storybrooke and he considered her safer company than Cora. Had Emma not left him at the top of the beanstalk, Hook probably wouldn’t have gone back to Cora.
Whilst I can see Hook teaming up with the side of good, the moment the evil side has something better to offer, Hook will jump ship. In the end he’ll get his comeuppance.

Keeper of FelixJanuary 16, 2013 at 5:59 pm #168687evilqueenParticipantI absolutely agree with PriceofMagic. If Hook really teams up with the ‘good guys’, I would still not trust him – I wouldn’t be able to stop thinking ‘what’s in it for him?’.

I just can’t see the worst in him. Yes, he’s a loose canon but after Sunday, he was more clear to me. He needs some serious counseling. Badly! If Hook pulls through this, Archie’s going to be very busy. He’s suicidal. I also think he’s got PTSD that was never addressed. That can do some wild and crazy things to people if it goes untreated.
January 16, 2013 at 6:32 pm #168699PriceofMagicParticipantI don’t think Archie would want to treat Hook especially after what Hook did to him. Whilst Archie may be happy to have sessions with Regina and Rumple, they’ve never done anything to Archie personally. Hook, on the other hand, threatened to dissect Archie and terrified him. Hook’s not suicidal, he doesn’t want to kill himself. He just doesn’t care if the cost of achieving his goals is his own life.

Oh, if Archie’s line of work is patterned after real life, he’s seen it all. Archie has a good heart and Archie being Archie, he’d treat him. Would Hook consent to that? Well, that might be another issue.

For those saying that he has shown ‘no redeeming qualities’… you are watching Once Upon a Time..right? 😉 Look, I’m not going to try to persuade you and explain how he will be redeemed and what has been shown to us that tell us he will be -theres no point. But when it does happen, I’m sure you’ll look back and realise all the little hints we’ve been given and the not to subtle ones as well that point to Hook being redeemed in the future 😀
January 17, 2013 at 1:01 am #168768jessistaParticipantmagic bean– The only things I can think of are his “friendship” with Emma and his helping her with the beanstalk thing, and perhaps his love for Milah (which we haven’t seen much of). Do you think his relationship with Emma will be his redemption? I could see that in a way, but I feel like the character would need more back story before that would happen realistically. I mean, we didn’t feel for Rumple really until we knew about his son Bae and his love for Belle, so maybe there will be some sort of episode giving him something along those lines. I seem to agree that Hook is for Hook and no one else, and wants nothing more than to destroy Rumple.
