Hook seems to think that the ring on on his necklace kept him alive. Fancy storytelling or does it have a story? And what might that story be?

I find it funny that he’d believe in that talisman over, say, the fact that he was in Neverland for a century…
I’m also wondering if they’re going to claim that Milah gave it to him. I’m not sure what I’d think about that twist. Parts of it would be satisfying and parts kinda icky.

No ,I think it is more likely that he got the ring from dear old dad. There is an upcoming flashback with him and Hook, after all.

^ that.
with Greek mythology coming, I’m starting to wonder if Hook’s father took it off of a Greek deity of some sort of making it literally is imbued with immortality

November 9, 2015 at 8:16 am #312016RumplesGirlKeymasterDid a wee bit of research and come up with a (possible) solution:
Ring of Dispel, a ring given to Sir Lancelot by the Lady of the Lake which could dispel any enchantment. In Le Chevalier de la Charrette it is given to him by a fairy instead. He used the ring to cross the Sword Bridge
The writers could easily change it so that Hook’s father got the ring and dispel any enchatment is really just “not die”

I’ve got a totally TOTALLY crazy theory. 😛
So the ring might come from either Hook’s father, or his mother via his father. And we have all this greek mythology going around. I know that greek mythology is FULL of gods and mortals having half-mortal kids together. What if Hook is one??? And the ring is somehow connected to that?!?
So yeah, I feel like I am totally pulling this out of the air, but I just wanted to be on record, just in case it actually happens, LOLOLOL!!! 😛 😛 😛

After being reminded of the Pegasus feathered sail, I’m all for Hook’s father having some big connection to greek mythology. Good catch, SFG

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aladdin
Aladdin retains a magic ring lent to him by the sorcerer as protection. When he rubs his hands in despair, he inadvertently rubs the ring and a jinnī (or “genie”) appears who takes him home to his mother. Aladdin is still carrying the lamp.
Cue dramatic music for the return of Jafar.
