Hm, don’t know. Somehow Hook’s tattoo shouts at me that he did it not because he loved Milah so dearly but because he wanted to REMEMBER as to WHY he set off to kill Rumplestilskin in the first place. It’s been 300 years and he must have gone through so much trouble that he might have forgotten why he has this enormous hatred for the Crocodile. Sort of an excuse for his own evil actions as opposed to Rumple’s. Which would make him even more of a bad/sad person but I hope I’m wrong.

When would he have been able to take her heart? And I don’t think Hook is capable of such magic. He may have just stolen one of Cora’s. The way they played that scene seemed to indicate they want to keep us on our toes because they were very vague about what was going on. They don’t explicitly say it’s Aurora’s heart- they sort of imply it, but you know how this show likes to have misleading implications.
November 26, 2012 at 7:33 pm #162432evilqueenParticipantwell… we know for sure that Hook indeed presented Cora with a heart “Impressive. You took a heart”. Yes, they are remaining vague as of to whom this heart belongs to but I don’t think he didn’t use magic at all. I believe he lived and learned long enough to be able to handle that skill and be “equals” with Rumplestiltskin.
November 26, 2012 at 7:47 pm #162437angiebelleParticipantHm…yeah, true. He has been around a long time- perhaps long enough to learn how to take hearts. But I still don’t think the heart is actually Aurora’s…or maybe that is just me hoping that Hook didn’t really betray them like that. I know- you can’t have all the villains turn out to be good, but I like the idea of Hook pulling one over on Cora. It drives me crazy when a character keeps switching sides! And I’m too easily fooled.

no, i don’t think it is Aurora’s hear either, I even set up a new thread for it 😛
I think BECAUSE they were very vague about who the heart belongs to, it is 100% NOT Aurora, if you know what I mean 😉November 26, 2012 at 7:53 pm #162440antbeeParticipant@EvilQueen wrote:

I get the feeling that this is going to be the next August didn’t really take the money because we didn’t see him do it versus he really did take the money even if they didn’t show it type of argument since I’ve seen this argument pop up at all the other forums that I visit.
I’m firmly in the camp that believes Hook took it otherwise while Aurora was asleep otherwise Cora wouldn’t been able to make Aurora her puppet by talking into Aurora’s heart if it wasn’t in fact Aurora’s heart that she had.
Someone in the chat suggested that perhaps taking people’s hearts is just something that anyone in FTL could do just like it seems they could all do magic if they wanted, but they choose not to.
That could be possible, but I tend to agree think that Hook knows how to do Rumple’s trick plus a whole lot of other magical stuff and whatnot because he wants to be able to kill Rumple. Even if he knows about the Dagger, but was still as powerless as he was against Rumple in “The Crocodile”, I don’t think it would be very dramatic to see Rumple and Hook go against each other because Rumple could just tear out Hook’s heart and crush it or turn him into a snail and stomp on him. However, now that we’ve seen Hook able to hold his own against Cora, it definitely makes his upcoming battle with Rumple a lot more fair and dramatic.
November 26, 2012 at 8:01 pm #162442angiebelleParticipantHm…I never questioned that August took the money. That seemed pretty obvious to me, not vague at all. They were very deliberately vague in the case of the heart.
November 26, 2012 at 8:02 pm #162443SlurpeezParticipantSo, does Hook carry about evil pixie dust in a sachet? Did he become a wizard? Can just anyone learn dark magic? It seems like if magic were that easy to come by, a lot more people would try to use it than we’ve yet seen. I read an alternative theory that Maleficent might have removed Aurora’s heart and Hook somehow acquired it, perhaps in a deal or by force.

I think they were just being vague because they wanted to totally surprise the viewers. I know that I thought that he might have removed her heart when he was talking about what he had, but I was like, “no, they’re not going to really go there because they’re afraid to cross that line with Hook.” Then, I was like, “oh yes! They did have the nerve to go there.”
I’m sure someone will ask K&H about it or tweet to Jane Espenson about it before long, so hopefully this matter will get cleared up.
