Yeah, I like to bring down little details. It really helps sometimes. That’s how the Frankenstein theory came into being. A lot of little details that at the time, didn’t seem that important, ended up being really significant. 😉

Assuming they used some sort of embalming process in FTL, he could probably still look pretty fresh even if several weeks had passed before Regina got a grasp of magic and used it to preserve him.
She could have used embalming first but once she found the preservation spell, she used that instead.
I think she sent his body through a plot hole.

😆 A highly likely possibility. 😉
IF I was Regina… I would blackmail CORA and tell her I will not marry King Leopold and have a PUBLIC MELTDOWN unless she preserved Daniel’s body.
I also think the death of Daniel was actually closer in time frame to the pushing of CORA through the mirror. Regina / Cora / father were packing to leave in the morning to King Leopold’s castle when Cora killed Daniel. The scene where REGINA tried to escape and where Cora stopped her with the barrier spell ( YES, this would be a plot hole, but if she was desperate enough REGINA would abandon Daniel’s preserved body and make her escape. ) Later REGINA dressed in her wedding gown pushes Cora through the mirror.
My problem has always been …. Had Regina already married King Leopold and was in her room “resting?” OR Was had the wedding not taken place and Regina went through with the wedding thinking she had a lot to gain and nothing to loose. Being a bride / queen was a better life that what she had had …… I think her father came to her after he realized she managed to get rid of Cora; telling her he was bankrupt and they were loosing their home. I think that was how FATHER became butler Henry.

Then Cora would torture or keep Regina locked up until she did marry him. You don’t blackmail someone like Cora. Heck she was about to choke her own daughter because she didn’t ride with a saddle….
I think Cora is the kind of person who’d preserve Daniel’s body anyway — no blackmail necessary — to remind Regina not to let love get in the way of ambition.
