Okay… I just realized something, and correct me if I am wrong, but exactly HOW Is Hook A Dark One?
If memory serves me right, Emma took the power out of merlin and attached it to Hook, right? But…Merlin was never a dark one. So why is Hook? He has Merlin’s powers, his immortality, etc. Emma has Nimue’s, who is the Dark One.
So how the heck does that work? Technically, Hook shouldn’t be a dark one. He should just be the next sorcerer.

Merlin was tethered to the sword Excalibur by Zelena/Arthur. It made him a Dark One, apparently.

But…
That makes no sense because Merlin didn’t do any evil acts to turn his magic evil like Nimue apparently did…theres no reason he should be a dark one just for being tethered to the sword thing….

I had assumed at first that Merlin’s magic was corrupted by Hook’s own dark potential. But then he wouldn’t be on the same network as it were, seeing head!Rumple at the same time as Emma. And he certainly wouldn’t have all the past dark ones in his head!
Nope, makes no sense.

Basically that. They wanted to have Dark!Hook and because they are 100% comfortable breaking any sort of mythology and world building from seasons past, they did it.

Jiminy, that Snow gif reminds me of the time when Snow was a decent character with morals and values and a desire to protect her subjects from harm, unlike the blundering selfish idiot she is now. Oh how the mighty have fallen! 🙁

Well…she didn’t fall that far, I mean Snow White has always been a blundering, selfish idiot, LOL…I’ve been trying to tell you guys this since Season 1, but it took seeing it for yourselves for you guys to see the little horns peaking out from the halo atop of Miss White’s head. I’m still not that much fond of her character, especially after she killed Cora and stole Lily from Maleficent, but I learned to tolerate her simply because the show is centered around her family, or at least it used to be before ships took over.

I just want this show to make sense so badly xDI know how you feel @TheWatcher….OUAT has nearly lost all of it’s magic, and I don’t know how much longer we’re on this roller coaster guys. We’re probably getting renewed, but I see only a half Season 6 at this point. As for why Hook became the Dark One….my guess is because darkness was already in his heart and all that darkness just took root in him….Merlin didn’t have any darkness I guess, or I don’t know….(Scratches head and shrugs) I don’t know….PLOT like @RumplesGirl and @PriceofMagic said I guess. #Adam&EddyBrokeTheirOwnMythology
I’m almost to the point where I just want them to resurrect Cruella, and have her reunite with Maleficent, Ursula, and Regina and just have the four of them ride out of Storybrooke for a spin-off show called The Queens of Darkness, which would be a Sex In The City/Golden Girls type of show. That would be tens of times more interesting/funny than seeing this once glorious “Titanic” OUAT Series slowly sink into the Seas of Cancellation.
But then there’s Henry, and I don’t want Regina to leave Henry behind. So she’s sort of stuck in Storybrooke till he graduates, and hopefully goes to Harvard….away from the abandoned, crazy town that is Storybrooke. Lord knows every Stilskin Men who stays in that town either comes up dead or a villain. #RunHenry
