Zelena telling Snow that she knew Johanna made me think and go back and watch The Queen is Dead episode. I think Johanna is connected to Zelena and may have had a hand in her being taken from Cora and ending up in Oz. A few things are now standing out as a little odd for me.
1) Young Snow caught Johanna trying on her tiara. Was there more to that scene than showing Young Snow being snippety?
2) Both Johanna and Zelena have red hair. Not a big thing but still a physical trait they share and worth mentioning.
3) Johanna was Eva’s hand maid and could have easily assisted Cora by slipping Eva the poison that killed her.
4) Johanna told Young Snow about the liaison between Eva & Blue and admitted to Snow that she wasn’t suppose to know about it. How did she know about it then? Was she spying on Eva?
5) It was Johanna who convinced Young Snow to seek out Blue only to have Cora impersonate Blue in an attempt to get Young Snow to use dark magic. Was Johanna in on the set up?
6) In SB, when Cora & Reggie held Johanna hostage, Snow said not to harm Johanna as she has nothing to do with this. Cora response was: “Of course she does.” Hmmm…..makes you wonder what Johanna had to do with everything and how much she knew.
7) Towards the end of that scene, Snow again asks Cora to let Johanna go and says, “You got what you came for”. Cora’s response: “Not quite everything” and throws Johanna to her death. Makes you wonder if Cora had other reasons for wanting her dead and that’s also what “she came for”. Could Johanna know more than either Reggie or Snow knows and was Cora afraid that Johanna would spill the beans about Zelena, thus shutting her up forever?
Makes me wonder.

March 20, 2014 at 11:56 pm #254525RumplesGirlKeymasterI pretty much believe with every fiber of my being right now that Eva is from Oz (the Kingdom of Ev) and that Johanna came over with her as her maid when she married Leo.
I think we might see a Young Johanna along with Young Eva when she meets Young Leo

Bill’s mentioned his crack theory in a couple of more recent podcasts too, mostly joking about it, but part of his brain is still holding onto the belief that Johanna was bad.
Dunno that I buy into it personally, but still, you’re certainly not alone in your Johanna suspicions.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they shocked us all with Young Johanna having had a child that she abandoned to go and work for royalty. Funny that when we first meet Johanna she is playing with jewels (Young Snow’s tiara) and when we first meet Z, she is playing with Reggie’s jewels.
While I’m still leaning towards Cora & Leo being the parents, yesterday’s sneak peek sure made me put Johanna on the list of suspects.

Never heard of that podcast Phee but thanks for the head’s up as I’ll be sure to give it a listen because now I’m really curious to hear that they have to say about this. I used to listen to our podcast here but stopped once K&H came out with their own in S2.
I can’t believe Zelena only mentioned Johanna to get Snow’s trust. When I watched yesterday’s sneak peek and went back to the episode The Queen is Dead, things really started to jump out for me.
I can’t help but wonder if Johanna isn’t Z’s mother or if she wasn’t her adoptive mother (took her from Cora) and abandoned her to care for Young Snow. Something just isn’t sitting right with all of this and a babe certainly couldn’t have been left to fend for itself. Even Emma & Pino had the orphanage to help them along. K&H don’t name drop without something of more importance behind it.

Haven’t listened to podcasts since K&H have stopped theirs but I think I might start giving his site a listen. Thanks for the head’s up. 🙂

March 21, 2014 at 10:46 am #254601PheeParticipantNo worries, GoldenKey. 🙂 They’re probably my fave podcast these days, they’re always fun and bantery and don’t take things too seriously. I’ll bet Bill would love to get a message from someone else who thinks Johanna is evil.
