I have been wondering this for quite some time now… Wouldn’t it be weird if Emma, now aged 29 is older than her mom if she was cursed at the age of let’s say 23, that would make Emma older than her mom ?

I wondered that too. It is definitely possible.
It is even harder to tell since they didn’t use a different actress for the flashback for either Snow or Regina at the times of their wedding, other than Bailee for Snow’s character as a “young girl” during Regina’s wedding.

A 7 years difference is more significant at younger years. 14 and 7 is a huge difference, but as you get into 20’s and 30’s, the changes in maturity level off, so even if Emma is a few years older it’s not really altering the dynamic between them.

Yeah exactly… that conversation is kinda hard to figure out their age ?!
I think Snow White looks to be around the same age as Emma (29) in terms of youth, but not years since SB was frozen for 28 years. In real life, Ginnifer Goodwin is almost 35 and Jennifer Morrison just turned 34. And while both women are georgous, they don’t look like early 20-somethings; they appear to be in their late 20s/early 30s.

I think Jennifer Morrison gave an interview during season talking about the age thing. I can’t remember where it was but ok, we know this: when the pilot happened, Emma just turned 28 and I think, the gist of the interview was that Emma is the same age Snow, or Charming or both of them were before the curse.
Yeah, the creators have suggested several times that Emma and Snow are roughly the same physical age now. So that would put her around 29.
Wreaks havoc with the timeline, though, because that means that Regina was queen from the time Snow was about 10-12 until she was 28ish. Depending on when Leopold was killed (and Snow looked around 18-20 at best then), there could be a decade between the Huntsman releasing Snow and the curse, but most of what we’ve seen of FTL seems to have happened within the last 2-3 years before the curse. Especially tricky are things like Hansel and Gretel who had to have aged at least a year in FTL (the apple was before the marriage and the marriage before the pregnancy and…math) but don’t look one bit older in SB.

Yes, I was confused on Snow’s age too…because Regina is supposed to be late teens, early 20s when she wed the king. If Snow was the same age, that makes her quite a bit younger than Emma who turned 28 in the pilot. However, they are telling us that they are around the same age.

That is the reason I always thought Regina was around 28, and Snow was around 10.
But I think Snow looks so much younger then Emma in my opinion.
I heard Ginny say in an interview that Mary Margaret was “forever 28.” So as far as the cast knows, she and Emma are the same age. But the creators are funny about that kind of stuff, so they could always change it at some point. I honestly think it would be hilarious if she were younger. It would make for a fantastic “WTF” Emma face. 😆
No one has ever mentioned how old Charming is though. I kind of think he may be younger than them,
I think it’s probably a plot hole about Regina and Maleficent’s conversation, keeping in mind that was, what, the 2nd episode? Everything about Snow’s age is pretty confusing to me though, because when she’s first banished it’s clear she isn’t supposed to be much more than a teenager (which Ginny acts wonderfully) but by the time she meets Charming she’s hardened, used to the wilderness, and seems much more mature, leading me think years could have passed since her encounter with the huntsman. And after he breaks her sleeping spell, they had an ENTIRE WAR to fight to reclaim the kingdom. That had to have taken a while. The creators say they have everything mapped out, but as awesome as they are, at this point I think they’re kind of making it up as they go along!
But then, it’s FTL…so I guess we should take all timelines with a grain of salt.
