It is not mentioned, but in “desperate souls”, Henry tells Emma that she shouldn’t make an alliance with him because “he is even worse” than Regina.
So, if Henry knows who Mr. Gold is, Rumplestiltskin must appear in the book…
And there is also the thing about how to break the curse; the way was revealed to Snow by Rumplestiltskin himself… wasn’t that in the book? I always thought that all the stories that take place in FairyTales Land were the stories in the book.By the way: it would be REALLY nice if someone publishes that book as merchandising (you know, the complete thing, the same covers, the tales, pics…)… I would buy it without thinking :geek:

It isn’t made explicitly clear whether Rumpel’s full backstory is in the book, but it’s safe to assume he’s at least mentioned as a character. As said above, there is a scene in the pilot (and it’s most definitely in Henry’s book) in which Snow White and Prince Charming go to Rumpelstiltkin, who says their unborn child will return on her 28th birthday, break the curse, and the final battle will begin."That’s how you know you’ve really got a home. Here is the general outline – Some point in the future the book is written. Each story will be written by those characters in those particular stories. The stories will be bound together into a book (with the help of August), and then the book will be transported into StoryBrook’s past (with the help of Jefferson, or by some other form of magic), to be received by Mary Margret in the past.
Why? To get Henry started on his path of breaking the curse.

That’s really creative. One question remains though. Does the book show what happens AFTER Emma comes to Storybrooke? If the residents of SB wrote down their stories and then transported the book to the past, one would expect adult Emma’s story as fulfilling Rumpel’s prophesy to be recorded on the pages of the book. It would have been a lot easier for Emma to believe if she’d read what happens in the book. Also, now that the curse is broken and Rumpel has brought magic to SB, one would expect there to be a solution about how to leave the town recorded in the book, like a log of the town’s history, and not just their previous lives in the EF.

I have thought about that as well. Only, I wouldn’t want it until the series is over so that all the stories are in chronological order.

So I think that while part of his story is in the book, like the part about how the Charmings had him locked up and how he predicted Emma being the saviour, I don’t think his whole story is in there.

First off, in one of the early episodes, Henry tore out the pages about baby Emma being sent to our world and after those pages were torn out, it appeared that the remaining pages in the book were blank. Second, my interpretation of Emma causing the final battle to begin is that the result of said final battle is unknown.

Thought about it with Whale’s back story, how what happened with Daniel in Storybrooke could have been the story we all know…unless a monster was created with his brother or something as well…and maybe jack and the beanstalk is going to actually emma and hooks climb up there…..hmmm idk.

Andrew Lang wrote 12 Fairy Books
Blue Fairy Book (1889) which has Rumpelstiltskin in it, so maybe in OUAT the Blue Fairy wrote the book that Henry has? Like everyone is saying
Red Fairy Book (1890) Green Fairy Book (1892) Yellow Fairy Book (1894) Pink Fairy Book (1897) Grey Fairy Book (1900) Violet Fairy Book (1901) Crimson Fairy Book (1903) Brown Fairy Book (1904) Orange Fairy Book (1906) Olive Fairy Book (1907) Lilac Fairy Book (1910)
