I think maybe I just really like the idea of Belle finding out about Bae first and trying to get word to Rumple rather than the other way around. I think the gang on the ship will be too focused on trying to rescue Henry, and I am wondering what would happen if Rumple found out that Bae is still alive after all. Would he still want to help with Henry? But you are right that it could go either way.
It could go either way, I agree. I just don’t know how Belle would find out by herself. She’s never been under a sleeping curse and couldn’t communicate with Aurora via the Red Room. I suppose there are other magical objects but when they’ve already set up the Red Room as a means of communication and it seems a shame to waste it when so many of our heroes can go there. Plus, if it is another magical object it is yet another magical object that they have to have a narrative for that people will wonder about and the simple answer is really the best route, IMO.
Also, as to Rumple and Bae. I think Rumple trusts Belle to help him; by giving her the protection spell he’s saying that she is strong enough to be the town’s protector. I do think he’ll be heavily conflicted about going after Bae on his own, but Rumple wants to prove to Bae that he’s changed. What better way than saving Bae’s son? One of the major themes of S3, in my head, is going to be redemption for the two villains of S1 and 2, Rumple and Regina. I think learning that Bae was “dead” in ASOTM was the real wake-up call for Rumple. He’ll slip and falter (because he’s Rumple) but I do think at the end of S3 we’ll have two very different characters in Rumple and Regina.@Phee wrote:
Secondly: Gotcha! My headcanon, (which is Hookriel biased), is that she already became human at some point in the past, during Hook’s previous stint in NL, sometime after Bae was taken captive by PP. Years of unrequited love followed, (in keeping with the theme of her prince having given his heart to someone else, in this case, Milah), then the object of her affection left NL. But now he’s back in present day. Hans Christian Anderson didn’t give his mermaid the happily ever after twu wuv like Disney did, and like I assume Once will. So I cooked up this headcanon that allows for a little of column A in the past and a little of column B in the future.
I am slowly climbing aboard the Hookriel ship. Very slowly. But I think it would have to come after some events in NL. Hook just took the first step to moving past Milah by letting Rumple aboard the JR. While it is possible that Ariel has loved Hook from afar and made herself human, I personally would prefer to see her becoming human after she’s met our clan. (heck: maybe it’s Rumple who TURNS her human in exchange for using the mirror to contact Belle)

And it’s gonna remain that way for aaaaaaages. By the time season 3 gets here and we actually start getting answers, we’ll have made ourselves sick over it all. π

By the time we get to September I’ll believe none of the things I believed in May. π
May last year I thought S2 would be: FTL flashbacks focusing on Snowing taking back the Kingdom, Emma and her parents vs Regina in SB, and Rumbelle going on a world hunt for Bae. So yeah…that panned out. π"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"May 17, 2013 at 11:44 pm #195197KebParticipantWish there was still someone in SB who’d been under the sleeping curse. But I’d love it if Henry were able to get a message to SB, thinking his family is still there, about Bae. Not sure how.
More to look forward to. Is it Autumn yet?

May 19, 2013 at 11:50 pm #195473rumbelles true loveParticipantHi Guys! It’s been a while since I was in the forums but am happy to be back and joining in on season 3 predictions. I have had this theory burning in the back of my mind since literally 24 hours after the season finale and I can’t hold it in any longer π π . I think that with the two most important people in Rumple’s life in 2 separate worlds, at some point (probably towards the end of the first half of the season) that Belle and Bae will unite and have an adventure together to get to Nederland. As to how this comes about I have managed to devise two lines of thought.
Idea 1: As we know Belle does not “Just sit here and do nothing!” There is no way on God’s green earth that she is just going to cast that cloaking spell and wait in hope for the main group’s return (episode 2×11 people). I thought that maybe in the past while Belle was in Rumple’s castle that he may have shown/taught her a little magic perhaps how to prepare ingredients for potions, how magic works etc. Enough so that she can cast the cloaking spell but also may be possibly assist/lead the fairies in coming up with a plan to get everyone back to the enchanted forest. I donβt believe that all the other characters will want to stick around in Storybrooke once it’s cloaked. They all wanted to go home in season 2 so I can’t imagine much has changed since then. It could be as simple as regenerating the magic beans or Jefferson’s Hat with well water, then again it could be a lot more complex than that. Either way I recon they succeed and everyone ends up back in the enchanted forest. This then paves the way for Belle and Bae to meet (something I personally have been looking forward to since 2×14 π ). Belle fills Bae in on what it happening and the 2 of them need to first discover where the core characters are (possibly via Arura) and then how to get there. I think Bae will have a lot of knowledge of Neverland and Peter Pan, possibly more that the most of the core characters. Thatβs one way.
Idea 2: The second way I thought of was that Belle manages to cast the cloaking spell BUT other people from the home office already know how to find Storybrooke; possibly Tamara and Greg left a tracking device in Storybrooke which can lead other people from the home office there. This would mean all the residence in Storybrooke have to stay and potentially fight to keep the home office out. Bring on Mayer French I say! Meanwhile back in EF Bae is recovering under the care of MAP and is looking for a way to get back to Storybrooke ASAP. He would not like being back in his home world as it reminds him too much of his broken childhood also he’d want to get back to Henry and Emma again. I could see it taking about 2 possibly 3 episodes for him to accomplish this. When he gets back there is a real threat of Storybrooke being invaded by the Home Office, which he, Belle, (MAP, possibly if they go with Bae) and other EF character fight off. Belle fills Bae in on what happened to the core cast and possibly other information she has found out about the home office. Bae recognises who the home office is connected to and he and Belle set off out of Storybooke (assuming they can of course, I reckon that when the Trigger was activated the town line broke and anyone can leave) to infiltrate the home office. I would love if Belle and Bae went to London to infiltrate the home office and possibly met up with Wendy who assists them in getting to NL.
Either way my 2 ideas could be complete rubbish but I like them :D. The one thing I really want from season 3 is to see Belle and Bae have some time together. I think that they would have an interesting relationship; probably very tense at time but also lots of fun as well. I do believe at some point Belle and Bae will end up in NL (separately or together) and unite with the core clan to be one big family battling the greater forces for Henry. Anyway those are my thoughts for now. They’ll probably change once more spoilers come out about season 3 π
May 19, 2013 at 11:51 pm #195474s. sanchezParticipantWow. Increasingly, I’m more impressed with the theories on this board than I am with some of the actual writing for the show. I think some people here my have a good career on their hands. π

While I like this from a romantic standpoint, Belle’s aversion to magic would suggest otherwise. She’s never been aboard the magic train. She even hesitated to take the fairy dust from Grumpy in The Outsider.

I agree. Since Greg and Tamara have already been there and likely told their superiors about how to reach the town, I don’t think the Home Office that resides in this world is done with SB.
I really want Bae and Belle to have a good relationship, they should be friends. And I would love love love love to see Belle tell Bae all about what a good man Rumple is and how he’s changing.

This. That Bae and Belle never got to properly meet and interact in this last season is one of my chief disappointments by far. I hope the new season rewards our patience by building a big story out of them developing a friendship with slight stepmother/stepson undertones.

Love the theories RG. I would like to see a triple reunion with Henry, Aurora and Snow or Charming in the red room of hell.
I also think TIME will be a very important factor for MAP and Neil, as Neil is hurt pretty badly. Will def be a close-call situation and he will need to find a healer/doctor/or daddy asap.
I also agree that we will see the mermaid story involving the ink. but I think in addition (or hope) we might see a COULD HAVE moment where maybe Rumble was THISCLOSE to Bae and never knew it. Maybe Bae did know, hid from him, thus making it that more dramatic.
Also Maybe present day Ariel will tell Rumple about her encounter with Bae or how Bae defeated peter, because obviously he has at some point.May 23, 2013 at 4:35 pm #195837RumplesGirlKeymasterI also think TIME will be a very important factor for MAP and Neil, as Neil is hurt pretty badly. Before SOTM aired, most of us knew MAP would find Neal (gotta love spoilers) but a lot of us thought it would be in the beginning of the episode and that Mulan would heal him with the waters of Lake Nostos. I still think that could happen, but that it won’t heal him all the way. It might keep him from dying, but I think you’re right: giving Belle and MAP something to do in FTL to save Neal would make Belle’s adventure in FTL less one dimensional.
