I am firmly in the Wes is Annalise’s kid corner. I thought that in December and I haven’t changed my mind.
I think I’m moving in that corner with Jo…even when Wes was pretty much considered the “deadlast” of the class, Annalise could still see the potential in the boy, and he makes her prouder than usual whenever he does something right. I’d love to see the mother and son dynamic between those two…especially wanna see a talk Annalise gives Rebecca about dating her son.
As for Rudy….I think he hid something inside that apartment before he left, and it’s gonna come and bite Wes later.
And Michaela…you guys maybe right…the poor dear may just be thrown under the bus. We know Connor’s already tipping on the line…that pressure is really getting to him unfortunately. I’m almost willing to bet he’d snitch first.

URGH, GAH. DO. NOT. WANT. I’ve always read the tension between them as sexual, whenever they share a scene alone I’m thinking, “Oh just start making out already,” so if it turns out they’re mother and son I will need ALL THE BRAIN BLEACH. From what little I’ve seen of the fandom, there seems to be a divide of people who see it as parental and people who see it as sexual. I happened to catch an ep of Entertainment Tonight recently where they had Alfie in the studio and the host actually asked him about the sexual tension between Wes and Annalise and are they gonna do it. His answer was that Annalise has sort of a maternal role in how she protects him, so he’d be surprised, but that the show is full of surprises so you never know. Whether or not it was their original intention, the fact that so many people DO perceive their relationship as having sexual undertones makes me think they might not go in the direction of making them mother and son, because really who wants to risk getting press for what could be perceived as something incestuous?
What I wouldn’t mind is if it turned out that RUDY was her long lost son, and she knows something happened to him but doesn’t know what. She wanted to keep control over the suspected crime scene, so she sought out a promising student and saw to it that he was set up in Rudy’s old apartment, hoping that somehow Wes would be able to eventually help her to put some pieces together to help her figure out what happened to Rudy.

There is definitely some connection between them, but it’s probably because I think she’s his birth-mother that I don’t see it as sexual. And really, it’s easy to assume everything is that way on this show since it’s so rampant. Everyone is sleeping around. So when Annalise and Wes are together it’s where your mind goes to.
If they do develop a sexual relationship I will give up my birth-mother theory. I hope to goodness I would…this show isn’t HBO and as risque as they are they’d never go THERE. But until then I’m viewing their interactions through my biased goggles 😉

And she actually quit the case. So that makes me wonder if Anna has either lost a child or had to give up her own child due to either a very bad relationship with her own married professor or due to sexual assault at the hands of a professor. But Anna has a dark past and I think she sees a little of herself in all of the murderous five.
But there is a deep connection and fondness for Wes, almost like a longing at first I thought sexual because sexuality and tension has been so blurred lately that our minds have been cultured to see sexual chemistry almost in any intense emotional reaction or even simple comfort and enjoyment. So I get where Phee is coming from in that interpretation of events. However as of late I see more maternal and protectiveness towards him. I do wonder if we knew Wes was her son right away will we perceived their interactions as being sexual?
I know I have seem some familial interactions on the screen that got a little to iffy with sexual under-toning for comfort. So it does happen.

February 12, 2015 at 11:10 pm #295814WickedRegalParticipantTHAT ENDING!
I was not expecting Nate to take the fall for the Keaton Five!!
The entire episode I just wanted to slap the blank outta Annalise’s Sister In Law….like I really did. I was hoping Annalise would do it, but that’d look too suspect.
And that court scene, Annalise knows exactly how to work a case. She saw the man kept glancing around…and come to find out the prosecutor was the one messing with the mafia, while he throwing shots at her, Annalise was right…he messed with the ITALIAN Mafia…the Italians are not to be trifled with!
Soooo glad Connor can rest at ease a little after that talk with Annalise, was much needed because I was scared the boy would have a nervous breakdown.
I was really questioning Bonnie’s loyalty, but I see now that she was really looking out for what was best for Annalise.
Nate taking the fall…again unexpected…but it must be some type of love!

OMG THEY FOUND THE RING.
But will it be THE ring?
Showing Michael’s immediate freakout surely means it’ll be Sam’s wedding ring instead, didn’t Annalise have it?
I KNEW IT, IT WASN’T MICHAELA’S RING.
You didn’t fool me, Show, I see you.
OMG WUT FRANK PLANTED THE RING AND THEY FOUND A FINGERPRINT ON IT.
Would Frank slip up like that though?
Isn’t Frank smarter than to leave his OMG WHOSE FINGERPRINT IS HE STEALING?
O_________O
OK Show, you done got me that time.
*spends half an hour trying to collect the pieces of my blown mind*
With the case of the week being about someone selling out the Mob family, I had a feeling we’d see someone sold out in regards to Sam’s murder. But I did not expect that. Holy crap, Annalise is legit framing Nate, someone who I believe does really care for her, and she for him, but she promised to protect the kids, and she’s gotta stay true to that promise above all else, even if it means throwing NATE under the bus.
Ho. Ly. Crap.
February 13, 2015 at 7:05 am #295824Twice Upon A TimeParticipantI don’t think Annalise is Wes is mother but theirs a specific reason he made it off that wait list infact I think there is a very large backstory to the choosing of each of the Keating 5 even Asher is hiding something up his sleeve.
Anyway my theory Annalise was either the attorney against a case against Wes’s parents which she won but ruined Wes’s mother’s life and killed his father —-or—- Wes is actully the product of Sam’s first marriage the women Sam left for Annalise and after being left my her baby daddy Wes’s mom’s mental emotional state begins to diminish and eventually she becomes so depressed that she kills herself and Annalise seeing herself is Wes (broken family) decides that she’s going save him
anywho…
that episode OMG Nate!!!!!!!
Asher knows something
Damn Bonnie….
Rebecca is hiding something maybe Rudy killed Lila
I know that it’s going to come up that Sam didn’t kill Lila and then so Sam died for nothing?
And I think the kids are going to try to save Nate
February 13, 2015 at 7:40 am #295825PheeParticipantAnd I think the kids are going to try to save Nate
I’m curious to see what happens with Nate next.
The reason that Annalise framed him was because the cops were starting to get close to potentially busting the kids, and Annalise herself. As long as the cops keep on believing that Nate is guilty, the rest of them are in the clear. So it’s not really in any of their best interests to help Nate get out of jail. I think Annalise needs Nate to go all the way and be convicted, otherwise the cops will keep prying, trying to find the real culprit.
I could however imagine them trying to get the crime he’s accused of downgraded, (that is if they’re even allowed to be a part of his case at all, due to the public knowledge of his affair with Annalise). I’m gonna guess that right now he’d be charged with First Degree Murder? Which might get him the death penalty? And I’m confident that Annalise doesn’t want that, no matter how desperately she needs him to be convicted of the murder, so angling for a lesser charge might be the way to go.
Of course, there’s always the possibility that one of the kids will feel guilty that Nate’s taking the fall for them and try to defy what Annalise is trying to do to protect them.
February 13, 2015 at 8:57 am #295830RumplesGirlKeymasterNext week looks amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing.
