True Love’s Kiss did not work between Emma and Hook, presently at least. We know that it did start to work once for Belle and Rumple meaning that it could change if Emma is “open” to it (maybe?)
But outside of True Love’s Kiss, what could bring back Emma from the Darkness? Is there any way to save Emma if she doesn’t want to be saved?

This whole episode screamed Greek Mythology and Hades, so I’m now positive Emma will be dead by the end of this half season, and second half will deal with raising her back from the dead thus making Hades our 5B enemy.
I’m willing to even go so far and say that the last scene of the Winter Finale will be Emma sitting in Death’s Boat being taken by Death to the Underworld. I’ve got a feeling we haven’t seen the last of Death and his boat.

And beyond TLK I still think however emma gets rid of the darkness, it’ll be her choice. She has embraced the darkness as who she is, which I guess is why TLK will not work and I guess that why it stopped working for Rumbelle as well, since Rump never wanted to give it up. So once Emma decides its not who she is, maybe that’ll open that door up. I guess.
Or they could just stab her and have someone magick her back to life or summon Charon to escort them to the underworld to retrieve her because death is reversible apparently? Idk with this show anymore.

It would probably involve some sort of sacrifice of her and Charming (counting as one life for a life because they share the same heart).
Perhaps, as @WickedRegal suggested, they will pull her back from the underworld with their sacrifice, bring up only Emma and leaving behind her darkness.

Does throw doubt on their love for each other though there’s no question that Killian’s met the test of “willing to sacrifice for the other” since he went and died for her in the alternate universe. (This is a test I came up with myself but so far it holds.)

I think Henry is the key to saving Emma, more than any romance.

Regina has to become the new savior before Emma can be saved. I’m not sure how, but I’m pretty Merlin’s prophesy will reveal the savior and the dark one joining forces to save Henry, and together, their mutual maternal love for their son will break the dark one curse. Or maybe Emma’s innate true love magic will let her free herself.

When using the dagger, characters sometimes say “Dark One” instead of the host’s name, but I think the dagger doesn’t work on the entity directly. I think the dagger controls the host who in turn controls the Dark One.

October 5, 2015 at 8:46 am #309200RumplesGirlKeymasterI really think that the only way to save Emma is for her to choose to be saved by giving up the power herself, probably in some sort of sacrifice. What the impetus for that is remains to be seen, but it’s likely a heady combo of Henry, Snow/Charming, Regina, and Hook being threatened by some thing so Big and Bad that it triggers the humanity in Emma.

Something really didn’t add up in 5×2. Last week Emma was desperate to be rid of the dark power after she nearly killed Merida, but this week she wanted to keep it after she healed Robin? But Emma was already able to use her light magic to heal people (Emma healed her mother in 4×21 when Lily accidentally hurt Snow). So why on earth would Emma want to keep the dark power to heal people when she already had the ability to heal with light magic??? That makes no sense whatsoever. It’s not like Rumple, who was powerless to begin with before he killed Zoso; prior to becoming the dark one, Emma, as true love incarnate, was already arguably on her way to becoming the most powerful white magician ever if she’d continued her magical training with Regina. So, Emma shouldn’t have had the same motivation to keep the dark magic as did Rumple, since she already has all the white magic.

I forgot about the Snow-healing back in S4. But…consistency. Not a thing on this show.

I said this last week in a thread, but I think Emma is playing a long con. She’s manipulating everyone and everything so that they will team up and beat the darkness out of her but she can’t interfere or do anything directly to help them. I think I said it’s liking working with the enemy in order to take said enemy down
