Hmm, what gets me is the “beware” that doesn’t typically equal a good outcome. I agree that “ubdoingc could mean many things but beware seems ominous of a bad one.

February 18, 2013 at 5:26 pm #174106karincaParticipantCould Henry be his undoing by leading Rumple out of SB and therefore allowing Cora, etc to find the dagger? I can’t believe it’s 2 weeks we have to wait!

Well, we can sit and talk about what we think the prophesy means but it only matters how Rumple interpreted it. Whether it means his death or his loss of power he is not going to take either well. Either which way if Rumple chooses to act on his beliefs then it will come true. I personally prefer loss of magic over death because Rumple’s my favorite. Now, do we think he actually will risk Bae’s love by killing his grandchild? He has spent centuries trying to find Bae. The entire show is built around him and Bae being reunited.
I think this is a really important point. How Rumple interprets it is what matters, at least for now. I think his “undoing” is more about the power of the Dark One and the upcoming war with Cora/Regina vs. the heroes, but once again the Seer left out details and all Rumple knows is that somehow Henry is what stands between him and Bae.
Now, I don’t honestly think Rumple will kill Henry. He would lose everything if he did that including both Belle and Bae. But I think we’re going to see him really struggle with it for awhile."He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"February 18, 2013 at 8:19 pm #174159TheGoldenKeyParticipantI believe that Rumple’s undoing doesn’t mean destruction as in death. I think it means undoing as in reverting back to his real self, pre Dark One days. In my mind, I think Rumple will end up sacrificing himself for the sake of young Henry. Interesting that they made Rumple the Beast, who in the real story, dies and is transformed and resurrected by Belle. In Narnia, we see the White Witch use a dagger to kill Aslan who had sacrificed himself for the Narnians. The story of giving up one’s life in sacrifice holds no copyright because it’s the oldest and truest story ever told . So I would hope that we will see Rumple give the ultimate sacrifice, his life for Henry’s, and in turn we see the Dark One die, dagger is shattered and the real Rumple is saved, transformed and resurrected just as the Beast was.

I think this is a real possibility. And, because my Rumbelle heart won’t let me NOT say this, if Belle witness this sacrifice it might trigger her memories and revert her back to herself, and then she can save Rumple from dying with TLK, which is the Disney movie of Beauty and the Beast works. Then, we have a Rumple who is not the Dark One, no longer magical, and that’s the next phase of his character development: learning to be human again, without magic, and being brave.

I’ve always thought it would be the series finale, but then I didn’t think the original curse would be broken in the first season. And Eddy and Adam have stated that each season is like it’s own book. Maybe Rumple sacrificing and receiving TLKs is this season’s finale. That could mean Season 3 would be “The final battle will begin!” Because I really don’t think we’ve seen the real final battle begin, yet.

Henry: So you’re my other grandpa. Did you know?
Gold: (shakes his head no)
Henry: Well, thanks for bringing me here…so I could meet my dad. (wraps his arms around Gold for a big hug, and Gold’s free hand kinda pats his back uncertainly)Cuz a, Gold really does need a hug, b, Neal needs to see that his dad isn’t a complete monster anymore, and c, Henry and Gold have really bonded quite a lot since Emma first came and Henry was kinda scared of Gold.

I hereby volunteer to hug Rumple anytime he needs it!!!!
I’d also like to see the continued bonding of Rumple and Henry. It will make it super hard on Rumple to hurt Henry in light of this prophecy now that he knows Henry’s his grandson (not to mention a really good kid)"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"February 19, 2013 at 4:04 pm #174308KebParticipantWell, there are about a dozen reasons that Rumple can’t/won’t hurt Henry at this point.
1. Bae wouldn’t forgive him.
2. Emma would stop him–she stopped Cora from hurting Snow, after all.
3. Belle, should she find out, would also not approve.
4. Rumple actually likes Henry. He gave him things freely before he knew they were related. He doesn’t do that for anyone else but Belle and Bae.
5. He’s got a deal with Charming–non-interference, and he made a promise based on that deal that no harm would come to Emma and Henry on their trip. He’s not one for breaking deals, with the one exception.
6. The way he stared extra hard at Henry when he vowed to kill all of them should harm come to Belle suggests, perhaps, some lingering hesitancy about killing the kid too. I think he was serious in his threat but I also think it came out of his fears and panic rather than any particular malice against the Charmings.
7. Oh, yeah, he knows now that Henry is his direct descendant…and that his actions led to not only his son, but his grandson being fatherless as he was. Ouch, guilt. But anyway, as Family, Rumple will feel bound to protect Henry, with perhaps the same irrational rage he expressed toward any threat to Bae or Belle.Henry’s safe, but Rumple’s got a lot of reason to be afraid about their relationship at this point.
