After five days — it feels like it’s been two months! — the gang may have finally come up with a plan to get out of Neverland on “Once Upon a Time.” The key to their escape was in capturing Peter Pan’s shadow. Thanks to the magic Regina has been teaching her, Emma was ultimately able to capture it, but it was no thanks to Neal and Hook.
The two were fighting like lovesick middle school children, and over a lighter no less. Of course, they were really fighting over her, but Emma tried to put a stop to that. “Let me be clear about something,” she told both men. “If I had to choose someone, I choose Henry. He’s the only love I have room for in my life.” Of course, that’s probably not true at all — she’s torn between both men.
TVLine’s Matt Mitovich wrote that this love triangle is getting more tiresome than the classic “90210” Brenda-Dylan-Kelly mess. Meanwhile, Hollywood Life’s Andy Swift is ready for Neverland itself to be over. “The episode ended with Pan sending Henry off to Skull Rock, which appears to be the location of the final(?) showdown between Peter Pan and Team #SaveHenry — or at least I hope it is,” he wrote. “Not to be a Negative Nancy, but I’m sick to death of Neverland, and if I have to sit through one more hour of jungle madness, I’m going to blow my brains out.”

Peter Pan seems to be an interesting character. I can see him being recurring, but being the “boy who never grew up”, I’m not sure what they can do with him in Storybrooke.

And I really liked NL for the first few episodes. What I am no longer liking is how every episode seems to be a tangent away from Saving Henry, which was supposed to be the entire point of the season, to focus on other things that honestly shouldn’t be getting *this* much attention. I really wanted a rescue mission–even if it failed, then at least they tried and narrowly escaped. But it has been moving from one plot point to the next: Tink, Bae’s cave, magical waters, Echo Caves, Dark Hollow. There needed to be at least one major rescue attempt, a spectacular failure is fine, before they actually rescue Henry.
I agree with Sarah: Pan is amazing and each episode has him getting creeper. Robbie Kay is turning out to be quite excellent.

I agree. I do love NL a LOT more than I liked FTL last season, but they haven’t really done anything. Neal was the closest but then he failed (which is fine, Henry obviously wasn’t getting rescued that soon lol). My biggest disappointment is with Rumple actually – what was he doing for 5 days lol? He’s the DARK ONE, and any time we’ve seen him (aside from when he was with Neal or Regina) he’s just been standing around and talking to fake Belle. I was hoping he’d have more to do in NL but he really hasn’t, at least not yet.
I feel like the point they might be trying to make is that when the group is split up they’re going to fail/not be able to save Henry. It’s only when the whole group comes together that they can take down Pan (which we’ll hopefully see the start of this Sunday).

Yeah this. Bobby said on Twitter once that Rumple becomes “the Darker One” but let’s be honest. He hasn’t done much except walk through the jungle and be plagued by self doubt. He was pretty epic in the season opener, leaving the ship and then killing Tamara but since then it has been really introspective, which I suppose is what we wanted after S2. The focus really has been on the JR5.
