I don’t think either Henry or Emma are on his side, quite opposite. They might be grateful to him for helping Henry and thus allowing them to communicate between the worlds but they still wouldn’t trust him, not to mention be on his side.

For some reason I think the finale battle will be Snow and her crew against Cora, George and there group of baddies. I kind of have a feeling that Rumple and Regina will be on Snows side. I also have a silly ideal that the finale battle has nothing to do with an actual fight but more to do with Rumple giving up has power, a sort of internal finale battle. Yet again, who knows, I just love this show. đ

I mean he did trap Emma in that elevator shaft which delayed her return to Henry, and if she had came sooner he could have died. And Gold used Emma to get the love potion so I don’t see why she would trust him.

I think the writers are going to force the good guys and bad guys together in order to fight against Cora. So, it really wouldn’t surprise me if Emma puts up a brief fight against Rumpel’s influence, but eventually gives in.

For all we know, neither Regina nor Gold want Cora (and probably Hook) in SB so they may have good reasons to convince the Charmings about it and they may unite against those other villains (I also have a feeling king George hasn’t said his last word yet) but almost certainly they will have their own hidden agendas and won’t hesitate to act on them and Emma surely knows that – so yes, I expect a pact but only a temporary one.

I agree. We’ve seen it done repeatedly on this show already. We’re witnessing it with Henry and Charming right now. Common sense should tell them that working with Regina and Rumpel is a bad idea, and yet they are. Regina felt safe enough to go to Rumpel for help for Henry’s dreams, Henry felt safe enough to accept the necklace, and Charming felt safe enough to trust Rumpel and Regina to get Snow and Emma back. It doesn’t make sense, but the writers are still doing it. So, to be honest, I expect the same cycle to continue with Emma. In “The Return,” Emma accused Mr. Gold of kidnapping Kathryn, but then in the very next episode, you see her asking for his help to gain custody of Henry. See? Woobly wabbly no sense! đ

Good point. Our heroes tend to go back and forth on whether or not to trust Rumpel and Regina. Weâve seen numerous times in which theyâve trusted Rumpel both in the Enchanted forest and Storybrooke. And youâd think that Mr. Gold leaving Emma in the elevator shaft would have been the last straw, but in âBrokenâ when Snow and Charming were interrogating Regina in jail, they called on Mr. Gold for help. And this was after they found about him leaving Emma in the elevator. They didnât even attempt to lock him up for what he did, but they did with Regina.
November 22, 2012 at 10:53 pm #161752Daniel J. LewisKeymasterYeah, sometimes the heroesâ reactions to Rumpel and Regina are a little inconsistent. Sometimes, theyâre afraid of them, and then sometimes theyâre asking them for help. I guess it all depends on the situation. But for the most part, I think the writers are teaming the Charming family up with Rumpel and Regina for pure plot purposes. Cora is coming and God only knows what kind of agenda has for Storybrooke. So, the Charmings are forced to choose between the lesser of two evils. They rather ally themselves with the Devil they know, rather than the Devil they donât.
