I haven’t seen this idea anyway, at least I don’t think I have. When I saw the new episode again, I was thinking. Hook isn’t your average representation of Hook. I’m thinking… He’s also Peter Pan. Does it seem too similar to Red’s story? This is maybe a bit of a different idea. And it uses a bit of circumstantial evidence.
1. Captain Hook’s comment about Emma being abandoned. Don’t you only really know that look if you’ve been through it? He talked about the Lost Boys and since I don’t think the original Captain James Hook would get along with Peter Pan, I think he may have been part of the lost boys.
2. Hook’s character. He’s almost nothing like the original Hook. People have said he’s a lot like Captain Jack Sparrow, who’s sort of a mix between the original Hook and Peter Pan, new Hook with his partial seriousness to do what he needs to do like the original Hook and yet can still make fun and make jokes like Peter Pan.
3. He knew about Neverland. How did he know about Neverland before he’d been there? Surely, he shouldn’t know about it unless he’s been there before…
4. His name. Killian Jones. What if there’s a reason his name is that and not James Hook? What if it was never James Hook? What if there was another James Hook and Killian Jones was never that. My imagination is telling me something like this: The original Peter Pan fought James Hook. But he started to see it from Hook’s point of view and left Neverland to become a pirate as he couldn’t as a Lost Boy. I can’t expand on that because it’s just an idea!!! Anyway, he decided to change his name to a more sea-like name. Killian Jones. I don’t know. Symbolic maybe. Not literally son of Davy Jones, but sort of like child of the sea or something. And then it continues until he meets Rumpel.
So what do you think of the idea?

Hook wanted revenge against Peter for cutting off his hand and throwing it to the crocodile yet in the series Rumple was the one to cut off his hand. If Peter Pan does exist in this show then what is Hook going to have against him?
Your point about Hook not being like the original Hook got me wondering. What if all the stories we know are a distorted turn of events? What if there was never a Peter Pan, or if there was, he wasn’t mortal enemies with Hook as they were made out to be.

I’m glad, that I’m not the only one thinking that. 🙂 Like you pointed out, the way he mentions the Lost Boys also made me think, that he actually befriended them. It did not sound at all like he chased them. Can’t come up with any evidence, but I like the idea.
I do wonder if Hook knows the Blue Fairy, though. Maybe Neverland is the Fairies Land the Blue Fairy meant in Dreamy. What if all the stories we know are a distorted turn of events?
I’ve been thinking that since the beginning of the show. Somehow all these stories must have come to “our” world, but they obviously aren’t accurate. It’s like with so many stories. They are often based on true events, but we change them to make them simpler, more exciting, understanble and more.

I definitely got the impression that Hook’s interaction with the Lost Boys in Neverland was very different from what we might expect from every other version we’ve ever known. Not sure I’m on board with the Peter Pan theory at the moment, but definitely looking forward to more Hook backstory. Things just sound like he has more knowledge and a softer spot for the Lost Boys than any Hook we’ve ever known.

He could use the kid as motivation for his revenge if said kid was Rumple’s son. If Bae hadn’t existed, Rumple might have let Milah go easier, and she might not have ended up dead. If Bae ends up in Neverland, he’d be a constant reminder to Hook of his lost love and how he lost her. That’s gonna create some animosity. And it wouldn’t be completely removed from the original story, because in the Onceiverse, Hook did lose his hand indirectly because of Bae. Rumple wouldn’t have been on that ship to slice Killian’s hand off if not for being motivated by his love for Bae.
