If Emma had known who Maid Marian was, would she still rescue her?  Discuss.

Yes. Emma wouldn’t leave an innocent woman to die just because of the possibility it could mess up Regina’s relationship with Robin. Obviously Emma wouldn’t intentionally set out to mess things up for Regina, but she would prioritise saving a life over Regina being all lovey dovey with Robin.

Yes she would have brought her back because Saviour and Marian was going to be unjustly executed. But she wouldn’t have had her there in the Diner all, “Surpriiiiiise look who I brought back!” I think if she knew, she’d have put Marian up in a room at Granny’s so no one saw her before Emma had had a chance to give Regina the heads up.

Yes, she would have probably brought Marian back with them anyway even though she shouldn’t have, because that is what that family does. They do things without thinking. She assumed that Marian was going to die because it was pretty set that that was what was going to happen. But she really didn’t know. The only reason she was able to fix the mess she did with her parents was because she new the story and how it went, if she hadn’t she would have messed herself up out of existence. She didn’t know Robin and Marian’s story so she just did what she felt like doing.

Adam and Eddie did an interview in which they state what Robin said happened. That she used to be sick got cured then he lost her anyway and A & E said they will explain how that happened in the coming season. So the question is not would she have still rescued Marian had she known who she was? But, should she have butted into something that she shouldn’t have?

Here’s the link to the interview:

Really I’m the only one who thinks she would have just left her?

It depends on what Emma knows and what Emma doesn’t know. Her good heart wouldn’t let an innocent woman die simply for protecting her mother. But had she known had bad it might be in the future (which is yet to be determined) she may have had second thoughts.

^^^ I just think that Regina is actually kind of important to her so maybe Emma would have made the crappy decision and let Regina have her happiness without adding this extra complication. Maybe it would have been something she would have felt guilty over anyway and told Regina later but who’s to say whether Emma knew or not in that scenario it still would have led to a lousy situation.

But Emma is a mother, and has fully taken on that role and responsibility.  She knows what it would be like to lose a child and I don’t think she would do that to Marian, even if she doesn’t really know her.  I think it would’ve been difficult for Emma to make that choice, but I think she would have brought Marian back.  But as mentioned, probably not invite her to the baby naming thing before she got a chance to pull Regina aside.

I think Regina’s going to surprise, us, though.  I think she’s going to be tempted to revert, but she’s come too far to truly turn to evil.  Her last comment suggests that, in my opinion – warning Emma she hoped Emma hadn’t brought anything else back, instead of insinuating Regina is now a threat to Emma.  I think Regina, too, would choose Henry over Robin if need be, because she has truly learned what it means to be a mother and love your child wholeheartedly.  And I don’t think Regina could put Roland in a situation where Regina actually hurts his mother, at this point in her redemption.

I agree. I would be very disappointed with Regina if she suddenly revered next season back to the Evil Queen, especially after all the progress she’s made this season.

I do hope though that she doesn’t lose Robin after she just found him.

If I were Emma, regardless of whether or not if I know who Marian is, I wouldn’t have saved her life. She is screwing with the past! Thats not good at all! Saving Marian’s life could have had a number of negative effects if she hadn’t brought her to the future (which is the best thing she could have done). Emma isn’t being a hero, she is meddling with fate….destiny… Marian was supposed to die. End of story. No matter how she felt in the jail cell, Emma shouldn’t have saved Marian.
I am not saying this has an OQ shipper. From a moral perspective I think Emma was wrong. As a Oncer, I’m glad she did it because now OQ gets some GREAT drama >:)
