My biggest question is also not WHO but WHY. If it was Snowing or Regina, then why move everyone back to SB? And how did Zelena retain her memories? For Zelena to retain her memories she’d have to have some involvement in the curse. And if Regina did do the curse, why didn’t she retain her memories?

For example, maybe in the list year, Z put that kissing curse on Robin, and Robin told Regina. But now, in present day, Regina and Robin have no memory of even being close in EF. Maybe, tomorrow Regina will try to poof something, and poof turns to Pffffft, no magic for Regina.

She needed everyone to forget that she was after the Snowflake, so she could get close to it. In FTL that baby would be guarded, because they knew she wanted it, but in SB she’d be able to waltz right in and just take it, because they were clueless.
But she didn’t cast the Curse, she used someone else to do it. She couldn’t have coerced any of Snowing & Co to do it, but offering Hook a way to get back to Emma would work a treat. He wasn’t with the rest, so didn’t even know about the baby, so had no idea that Zelena was up to trying to harm them until it was too late, all he knew is he could get back to Emma by casting the Curse. He’d get to be with her, he’d heroically reunite her with her family, it was the perfect plan. Until he landed in SB, realised he was the only one with memories apart from Zelena and that she was up to no good, which brings us to, “Your family is in danger,” at Emma’s door.
What doesn’t make any sense to me with this theory is that Hook left before the curse was cast, so how could he cast the curse and then go off and get to our world very quickly? He’d have to escape VERY quickly before everyone was taken back to Storybrooke. And again, who’s heart would he sacrifice?

How do we know he left before the Curse was cast? Curse casters can leave SB (like Regina did to get Henry). Maybe he landed at the very edge of town and just crossed the line.

We don’t even know for sure that he DIDN’T go to SB with everyone else first, before going to NYC. But even if he didn’t, if he just landed in NYC, with Emma’s address, how could that happen? It could happen if he’d cast the Curse for the purpose of getting back to Emma. As far as we know, Zelena’s the only one who knew where Emma was (right down to her address) because of Walsh. She could have quite easily used that information to convince Hook to cast the Curse. Him being brought to our world with the Curse makes more sense than him coming separately somehow IMO.

A couple of us have already explained at length why he could likely use the JR, so I’m not gonna repeat myself.
I missed Love Day, busy living life, catching up on shows (only 2 behind on Agents of Shield now!). So I hope you’re all loving the show, and enjoying it. Since I have a little sliver of time with an early rising toddler falling back asleep in my arms and marathon TV night leaves me goofy….CRACK THEORY TIME!
1)Belle cast the curse.
2) Rumple didn’t die because he’s the DO, and only the dagger kills him.
3) Belle did it because Zelena made her.
4) Z “monkified” Belle, but Belle doesn’t know.
5) Z was talking to Belle when she said “My beautiful one” to a monkey, beauty being associated with Belle.
6)The monkey was jealous not of Z, but that it was Rumple that Z was going to go meet.
7) Were-Monkey is like a mix of werewolf and heart-snatched people, they’re under control and follow direct orders (this is how Z spies), but they appear unaware when their human selves, so as to act naturally. (Sleeper Agents!).
8) The things that don’t add up with earlier scenes of Belle interacting with anyone were just there as red herrings, just like Pan and Rumple in the piper story, and explained by sleeper agent thing.
9) As for Hook, Snow and Charming guessed Z was using the curse to get to Emma for her magic. They told him about monkey sleeper agents,when they contacted Hook via bird. They knew his ship was enchanted wood, and could work like the Wardrobe. He agreed to dismantle it so he could help Emma,so that’s why he has memories. He won’t say anything because he’s not sure who is a sleeper monkey agent and Snow’s note said don’t trust ANYONE, and he is afraid to tip off Zelena’s agents, even to tell Emma in case it gets overheard.10) Meta-wise, the story is trying to get characters to “walk-a-mile” in each other’s shoes, so for Belle, the monkey/curse story would allow her to feel manipulated and controlled, to bring her better understanding and forgiveness. Plus to “darken” her as it seems like the writers are trying to blend everyone by “lightening” some, and then like Snow concluding Eva was dark, darken others, Belle will probably feel super-responsible and horrible (even if some of us would say “not her fault” because, monkey–then there will be a double-standard with the reaction of some fans to Walsh (evil, hiss boo) versus Belle (“not her fault!”) in fandom.)
The other crack theory, is that Aurora would use Phil’s heart to protect their child. It’ll be rushed exposition, that they feel guilty for the WWW coming to EF or something like that, during their quest to get Phillip back after the wraith. There’ll be subtext hints of a happy ending as she says she’ll have Mulan to help her raise the child, who will know his/her father was a hero and loved them, and that’s all that matters.
Happy Once Day, let’s hope I’m as off with Monkey-Belle or Aurora ‘s role as Zombie-mermaid-Milah, leader of Ursula’s undead demon-mermaid army!

Snow and Charming cast the curse to protect the baby, it will be frozen in time, to give Killian enough time to bring back Emma, make her believe so she can help them fight the witch, – aka we believed in your true love he was your best chance- and the reason why Zelena needs this true love kiss is to break the curse and get the baby – because as long as it’s not born, she can’t cast her own curse and go back in time.
