Anyone reminded of the butterfly effect? 😉
Btw, could be an interesting side plot. A bit like LOST. Showing the lives of everyone had Rumple gone through the “bean hole”. Seeing as he had his hands practically everywhere, I’d imagine FTL would be quite different.
On the original topic: I think Bae would have adapted after an initial shock (kids are that way, as I know from experience), but Rumple would’ve hated it. As darcyfarrow pointed out, with no money and knowledge of the world, they’d probably be even worse of than in FTL.
Rumple would get more frustrated and irritated and, without intending it, taking it out on Bae. Their relationship would not get better, but get even more strained.Need to get some steam of: How can it be, that I come up with such stupid thoughts, but I’m not able to write a 10 page marketing concept!! ARGH! Although, if it was about OUaT, I’d probably manage. <.<

What if you are Mr. Gold? Smart, sneaky, cautionous and always looking for the best deal. He is doing the other person a “favor” in their negotiations. What a salesman!

Heh heh heh…you guys inspired me to write a fanfic, contrasting Bae’s experience–arriving alone, unprepared, with his memories of FTL intact–with the experience of characters who had the blessing of forgetting. Makes my heart bleed for Pinn and Jefferson–I couldn’t write their stories; it would be too painful.
Ooh, I just had a horrible image: Rumple trying to protect Bae from some hood. In his anxiousness Rumple forgets he has no magic–a centuries old habit is hard to break. He raises his hand to slap away a gun, and it’s all over. OK, I just convinced myself that not only was the forgetting a blessing, so was Storybrooke. The FTL folk are isolated from the worst of our world. Regina’s a pussycat compared to our real-life baddies.

You should TOTALLY write a fanfic about it! Until the show releases an episode explaining what actually happened to Bae, we can only speculate. But I don’t think every possible outcome for Rumple and Bae entering our world would’ve ended badly. I mean look at Pinnochio-he was all by himself and he came out alright (for the most part).
