First of all: I know I’m a noob. That does not mean I don’t love this show and have questions. 😀
Has anyone wondered what would happen when (and if) the curse is broken to everyone? Like, say for instance that when the curse is broken, everything goes back to the way it was right before the curse took everyone, so Snow had just had Emma, but instead of transporting her to our world, they live on happily ever after in Fairy Tale Land. My question to that would be: What would happen to Henry? Assuming that Henry’s father is 100% our world (which I know is being debated), he would never exist, right? And, if everyone was transported as they were right after the curse is broken, would they remember their lives in our world?
Would they even be able to go home?
Thoughts?

They just can’t erase Henry’s existense or reset Emma’s life to when she was a baby. I hope that people get the choice to stay in Storybrooke or return to FTL, if it even still exists. That would be much more interesting, seeing how they adjust and reconcile their former lives in FTL with their current lives in Storybrooke. I really don’t think some would willingly want to return to that former life. Even though they’re cursed, I think some have it a bit easier in Storybrooke.

So, Storybrooke will either be destroyed and scores of innocent people will be slaughtered, or they will all be transported to another land. Or maybe they’ll be stuck in some kind of chaotic limbo.

But here’s the kicker: Since “magic” can’t exist in a relm where there is no magic…everyone will need to go back to their correct relm or another relm that does have magic, right?
But then, if Mr. Gold brought on the dark curse to get rid of his own curse and to find his son again, why would Mr. Gold want the curse broken? On one of the first two episodes, Rumple foresaw Emma to come after 28 years to be the “saviour” and then a great battle would begin he says. What “great battle”? So from that it sounds like if the curse is broken it won’t put things back where they used to be…but would cause some great battle..good vs evil?
April 29, 2012 at 9:35 am #144587romantic_sheepParticipantHenry and Emma logistics aside, I don’t think they’d reset everything like that, because that would essentially erase the entirety of the show (the Storybrooke half anyway) to date, and it would be deeply unsatisfying to just lose all of that story and character development. If there were to be a return to Storybrooke, I think it would have to be in light of everything that has happened in the interim. It always puzzles me when people say that characters killed in our world might still be alive in FTL world, because as far as I’m concerned, that’s all in the past and has no bearing on what happens next.
I’m of the belief that FTL is no more, even more so after what the Blue Fairy said last week, “So you’d be willing to sacrifice this world for the next? Because that’s how great the price is.” The fact that not only the people, but also structures and items from FTL have ended up in Storybrooke has always made me think that FTL was destroyed by the curse, so I don’t think that breaking the curse will “transport” everyone back there.
Although “our world” was supposed to be the place where everyone was robbed of their happy endings, more and more we’ve seen that apart from Snow and Charming, very few characters were actually living happily in FTL. It was a place of forced marriages, murder and curses. Post-curse, I’d personally be more interested in seeing the characters realise that this is where they live now and trying to find a way to live happily in our world – after all, that’s where we all live, so in many ways it would be more interesting and relatable than a return to a magical land.

Now this is something that I hadn’t really considered, but I could go for this before I would a return to FTL.
April 29, 2012 at 1:21 pm #144602dream_drop_distanceParticipantI almost half agree with all of you. But most of you are saying that same thing. FTL is dead, but people would’t want to go back anyway. I guess I do agree with that. But I don’t know about the ‘great battle’. Is is metaphorical? Like the past clashes of Emma and Regina (for example: Gram)? Because I don’t know how they’ll fit a massacre in the storyline in Storybrooke. A real battle would be hard to digest.

Agreed. I’ve always thought that FTL was destroyed, and BF’s words in the last ep just confirmed that in my mind.
As for the battle between good and evil, who knows what form that will take. Hopefully there won’t be a Storybrooke massacre.
April 29, 2012 at 3:25 pm #144612Daniel J. LewisKeymasterI’m not exactly sure what would happen if the curse were broken. But I do agree with you most of you…probably something not good. I do, however, like the theory that after the curse is broken everyone will be transported to a different world.
April 29, 2012 at 3:27 pm #144613PriceofMagicParticipantI think when the curse is broken, everyone will remember who they are meant to be but they will still be stuck in Storybrooke hence the episode title “a land without magic”
All magic comes with a price!

That actually makes semse. But, you’d think they would be releaved that magic didn’t exist in this world. They’ve seen what magic can do when it falls into the wrong hands.
