Topic.
For me, I’d have Neal have been able to stay with Emma in the 3.11 finale. Yay Swanfire.

Heros don't get their Happy Ending!
January 31, 2014 at 9:06 am #241923Marty McFlyParticipantI’d cut that horrible scene in the season 2 finale where Gold is about to kill Henry. totally out of place and not in character. UNLESS his fortune telling powers foretold him that Henry would become a Peter Pan and could be a danger to the whole family
January 31, 2014 at 12:26 pm #241950once_dudeParticipanta scene i have always wanted to see (well at least since Manhattan): we see a whole scene where we think its in present time, but instead its a Golden prophesy. Then for a few episodes we are trying to figure out from the jigsaw pieces in that scene whether Gold will aid or prevent that prophesy coming true.
A proper backstory for the Blue Fairy.
The proper backstory of the book (that is still ambiguous, the scene made it look as if the book were part of the curse but that cant be true because Frankenstein’s story was not included)
and speaking of Frankenstein, if you are going to have another realm make full use of it what other characters come from land without colour? is there Dracula, is there Dr. Jeckyll, maybe a captain ahab or a macabre character like heithcliff?
and finally: more baelfire. i want to know how he got out of enverland and how he became neal cassidy and i want to see more of a relationship with henry, and more of a relationship with his fahter. hopefully that is in the works.
i want more of emma’s backstory, like seeing her at henry’s age or what happened in the foster system to her.
also if i could i would go back in time and delete all scripts involving gregg and tamara. they did not bring much to the show.
Magic always comes with a price, so I pay with visa.
January 31, 2014 at 2:26 pm #241990Sarah_TNParticipantI hate to say this because I like Colin O’Donoghue, and he is the best Captain Hook ever, but I’d have had a stand-in for him when he broke his leg last season. This person could have just been there until Colin healed, and returned to set.
I think the absence of Hook set the show off-course from it’s intended story-flow. I read a theory elsewhere on the board in a different topic, that the show may be rebooting itself. If that’s what they are doing, I’d say it’s because they were driven off course from their original vision, and have to find a way for them to return back to home base. Having to accomodate for someone’s absence may have been the catalyst, which began their mis-directed route, if that’s what is going on. I’d have stayed on target with the story as planned, even if it meant having to temporarily recast a role to do it.
In short, I guess what I am saying is, “the needs of the many, outweigh the needs of the few” (~Spock, Star Trek II, Wrath of Khan), and the big picture (the “many”) was impacted when the “few” were prioritized over the show, the actors, the fans, and everyone. I wouldn’t have let someone’s absence drive my project off-course.

January 31, 2014 at 7:01 pm #242036PriceofMagicParticipantHaving a stand in play Hook onscreen would’ve been very jarring to watch. It’s awful when they do it in soaps. Hook’s absence was okay for those few episodes because there was an in episode reason why he wasn’t there. At least he didn’t just disappear off the face of the earth like Ruby.
What I’d do:
I’d have RumBelle actually work together to solve a problem in an episode, also I’d show them happy onscreen and most importantly KEEP THEM TOGETHER for more than a few scenes in one episode.
I wouldn’t have killed off Felix. I might be in the minority but I liked Felix and RegalCat could have lived! (Probably not as a canon pairing but as a crack pairing)
I’d have more character focused scenes rather than action scenes. There’s certain moments you want to see, not have them swept under the rug in order to fight a big bad. Henry actually having to fill in his family tree would be one of those moments and funny.
I would’ve simplified GOAT. Greg being a normal guy who accidentally found his way to Storybrooke and Tamara being Neal’s normal finacee. GOAT had the potential to be interesting characters but they made them too much.
I would have changed Season 2 Henry so he wasn’t so bratty or stupid (The dynamite stunt was full of idiocy). Also I would have not had Henry being so wishy-washy with Regina. He needed to make up his mind over whether or not he wanted anything to do with her. He shouldn’t have dangled himself like a reward in front of Regina then take it away the moment she does what he wants.
I would definitely have Hook apologise to Belle for what he did to her, she didn’t deserve it.
I would’ve had Belle either have amnesia or be Lacey, not both. Both stories had potential to be great but they crammed both in and neither really got the screeentime to do it justice.
I would’ve had Snow be a bit more sensitive in the echo caves about her confession. She’s completely justified in want another child but the way she presented her reasons was a bit off, even for Snow.
I would have more Emma/Charming moments.

Keeper of Hook and Emma's smoldering first kiss, a certain Pirate's sauciness, the Evil Queen's snarkiness, Grumpy's gruffness and a drop of true love to make it all go down smooth.

LOL and true.
for me, I would not have brought magic back at the end of Season 1. I would want Regina and Rumple to deal with the fallout of not having magic after using it to abuse others. Rumple needed the curse to find Bae because he was not willing to give up his power. It would be great to watch Regina and rumple manipulate to get out of trouble. I could see them trying to throw each other under the bus to save their own skin. I would want them to go on trial for all the horrible things they do. The town folks will get a chance to air their feelings. How do they come to terms with what happened to them. snow has to come to terms over losing her daughter because Regina is on trial for her acts. They could do flashbacks about when they defeated Regina. I would like to have seen the peasants no longer accepting the “nobleness” rule of monarchs. Giving us insight into what kind of Queen Snow was. i would explore the idea of Snow maybe wanting a non-royal life. this might be something Snow and Emma could bond over. This could all be handled in the context of what to do with Regina and Rumple.
This would not go on too long. Because let’s face it –evil Regina and Rumple stirring up trouble is far too entertaining. Here’s my twist. It’s clear that Rumple is going to be convicted so Belle is the one that brings back magic because she can’t stand to watch him be convicted and no one will listen to her pleas for mercy (I know roll eyes). But in releasing magic something bad happens. Maybe Rumple goes after the DA, maybe it brings opens a portal for a big bad. Whatever it is, Belle can’t live with it figuratively. She realizes that her father was right, she has changed for being with the Dark One and an innocent has died. This gives her own journey. She is conflicted about her love for Rumple and needs to work through her feelings and acts. She recognizes that Rumple has and continues to do bad things, so this provides a reason for Rumple and Belle not to get together until the last season. See I like Rumple and TLK would mean that Rumple has lost all his power and could never be a villain.
The second half of season 2 would be about bringing Hook to SB. I am not sure how I would do it. I like Talahassese, so maybe I would find a way to have Emma in EF or maybe I would have Hook finding his way to SB without a detour by Emma to the EF Or maybe I would make him a cursed person. he might have been the one to lead the prosecution of Rumple. I don’t know. I know that I would want fun flirty revenge minded Hook who would become redeemed Hook at some point.
Season three would have Bae but as part if the home office because he knows magic corrupts from all that he has experienced with Rumple and Pan. Bae’s journey would be to work through his hatred of magic and his feelings for his dad. I would probably have a very strong CaptainFire relationship; none of having Hook sell out Bae to Pan. Rumple would have to deal with knowing his abandonment of Bae led to Bae becoming close to Hook. Bae would be the reason why the two men don’t kill each other in the end. I probably at some point, probably in my Neverland arc have Hook save Rumple’s life and Rumple save Hook’s life, establishing an unease truce.
I would work in Pan and Cora not sure exactly how, but Pan would not be Rumple’s dad. I truly believe making pan Rumple’s dad severely hurt Pan’s character and the Neverland arc. In bringing back Cora, I wouldn’t let Regina get too angsty. I like sassy Regina.
i’ll stop now. it’s funny because all this came to me as I was writing this post. this post was going to be a short one.

February 1, 2014 at 4:12 am #242179GrimmsisterParticipantI would change the Whole storyline of Rumplestiltzkin. I see that most people are very much loving his redemption story + him being sweet old grampha Gold and offcourse there is the Rumbelle thing… so people love his story, I get it- So it wouldnt be a wise buisness choice to change Him, but I HATE his story!
Rumplestiltzkin is not suppossed to be a sweet old vulnarable man. Rumple is the little meanspirited woodfairy devil-dwarf. Not human.. I repeat- Not Human! He shouldnt be vulnarable, or be redeemed and he should not regret his mean manipulative ways.
But I just feel this way because that is how I saw the old Rumplestiltzkin tale and I cant seem too change my mind on that thats whoRumple is suppossed to be.
