I agree with Ser_Dragon.
I Love/watch OUAT (and LOST) because of these writers. They are brilliant.
I want to see the story they want to tell.
I don’t want to see the story that the fans want them to tell.[adrotate group="5"]March 21, 2013 at 3:28 pm #181331angiebelleParticipantI agree that I want them to tell their own story. I just wanted to say that as a fan who loves the show, I wish to see more of the character interactions and less of the danger. But they can take the story any direction they like.

“The Price of Magic”, if the upcoming special is any indication.

Oh interesting idea. This thread really has made me think about how they are gonna keep the next 5 seasons interesting. I hope they will do a little planning and set up a basic outline for the seasons to come. That way it’s easier to resist fan demands too, and they can write what THEY want. Nothing set in stone, just that they know where they are heading.
And I hope they will stop after that, and not let the show run indefinately because it’s a cash cow. Nothing worse than a series slowly bleeding to death, I would rather see them stop on a high. Not that I want the series to end… ever really. I love every character. But its the kind of story that needs to end eventually, the curse needs to finish somehow. And I can always rerun the series indefinately on DVD, right?March 21, 2013 at 6:32 pm #181371RumplesGirlKeymasterAnd I hope they will stop after that, and not let the show run indefinately because it’s a cash cow. I think it’s a lot like LOST. After S3, the PTB announced that LOST would end after the sixth season and it made sense because while it was a highly successful show, it was also the type of show that HAD to end. It and OUaT is not like Grey’s Anatomy that can go on forever (and ever and ever…), it does have to end at some point. But in an interview at some point Espenson said that Eddy and Adam have tons of ideas that could carry this show for quite some time. I want us to have a minimum of 5 seasons but I could see it going to 6 or 7.

That’s one of the things I loved most about Avatar the last airbender, it was designed for three sessions and that’s when they quit even though it got super popular. Sure there was a spin off (which I haven’t seen yet) but it was its own thing. The original story was done with.
Supernatural on the other hand, has gone three seasons (and I think it’s been signed on for two more) past it’s original story. As much as I love the brothers, i the first five sessions were a coherent story and now it seems like it’s slipped back into the monster of the week thing. It’s cool and all, but it’s sad to know it will never be as good as it was in the end of S5.
