There’s never a good reason to bash actors unless they really are jerks in real life, and I don’t get that vibe from the OUAT cast. Plus, in most fan encounters that I’ve read during the finale filming, they’ll all been nice to the fans.

I woke up this morning to check my tumblr and saw a post that apparently, VancityFilming’s twitter account has been bashing our lovely OUAT actors.
I’m not saying that’s okay to go ahead and re-post photos but that’s a very jerk thing and unprofessional thing to do.
Don’t worry. They’re big boys and girls. Vancity Filming is there on the scene and can see stuff we can’t. Maybe there’s a good reason for it. Let it go, though. The sun will rise again tomorrow.
Exactly! That’s what I keep telling people! To stop treating these actors like they are Gods or something. Don’t sell yourself and throw away your moral standards to kiss the feet of another imperfect human being who just happens to have more notariety than you do!
If Vancity Filming saw something happen that warrants the public criticism of someone, if they were there, then who am I to judge?
People deserve respect, but people do not deserve to be worshipped, and nobody and I mean NOBODY is above reproach, nor should they be because then you just make idols out of them. It’s fine to be somebody’s fan, but stop worshiping them, and stop enabling their own self-worship! They don’t deserve it and for long as an illusion of perfection and “can-do-no-wrong” is maintained around these people, some of them wo really need help are never going to face the music enough to see that they need to get it (and with that I’m talking about something else I won’t elaborate on).
April 4, 2013 at 2:21 pm #184383obisgirlParticipantIt’s very unprofessional IMO to openly bash actors on twitter. Whether the stories are true or not, it’s still not cool.
April 4, 2013 at 2:24 pm #184384sarah_tnParticipantYou sound like you know what you’re talking about. What I’m saying, is that we don’t know what they’re talking about or why, because they’re there and we’re not. We don’t know these people. They probably see them very often, if not every day. I don’t think a public site with the reputation of Vancity would do something like that, if they didn’t believe that it was for a good reason.
In other words: We’re not qualified to criticize them if we can’t walk in their shoes.
April 4, 2013 at 2:24 pm #184385obisgirlParticipantI understand that Sarah. All I’m saying is that I think it’s unprofessional.
April 4, 2013 at 2:27 pm #184388RumplesGirlKeymasterBased on the Tweets from VC, it seems that it’s because certain actors don’t come out to greet the fans. And VC is very open to bashing them for that. The problem I have with that is that they make sure they @ each of the actors. If you’re upset that an actor didn’t come out to greet you (which they are under no obligation to do, BTW) don’t go on Twitter and send all these tweets with the actors @names.
VC, which I love and am grateful to for all the pics, seems to think that simply by being on location they should expect personal interaction with the actors and the sign of a GREAT actor is one who comes over and engages with the fans. While I can understand that not getting to meet your favorite actor is a disappointment, they’re human begins too. I’m sure they have many reasons for not wanting to come out.

Oh I agree, I just give Vancity more credit for their reputation. I mean, they’ve earned a name for themselves and so I can’t see an entity like that doing something like that for no good reason.
If it’s not for any good reason, then heads need to roll because otherwise the respect Vancity enjoys might be short lived.
What kinds of things have they said?

Thank you RumpelsGirl. If the actors have a tight schedule due to filming, seriously, that is NO reason to bash the actors.

Well, like I said, if this isn’t for any good reason, then some heads need to roll because this can put the respect (and privaleges) they enjoy in jeopardy.
But again, call me naieve, but I can’t see somebody like them doing something like that irresponsibly. They’ve earned a name for themselves. They’re not going to want to endanger that. I think they have more sense than to throw all of their hard work away in that manner.
April 4, 2013 at 2:41 pm #184393RumplesGirlKeymasterI mean, they said they had seen friendlier dog turds than JMo and GG because they weren’t “fan friendly.” That’s an actual tweet from last night.
Look, I love VC as much as anyone on here because they fuel my need for spoilers. But let’s not overstate their importance. Their website has been up and running for less than a year (Aug 2012) and truth be told if they want to remain in the business, they need to adopt more decorum than what they are currently showing GG and JMo. Those actors are not contractually obligated to come out and greet fans. It’s not a simple hello that would be expected. It’s pics and autographs and talking.
