I mean, they said they had seen friendlier dog turds than JMo and GG because they weren’t “fan friendly.” That’s an actual tweet from last night.

So this wasn’t innocent well stated criticism. Oh my, that was not smart!!!!!

Well, this makes more sense then. If they’re the type to do something like that, then I’d say the actors already knew that. No wonder they didn’t want to come out. I wouldn’t come out for jerks like that, either!

Thanks for the info on Vancity. I thought they were a bigger publication than that.

That is NOT being professional at all, as you can see.

It may well be that JMo and GG aren’t fan friendly when they’re on set. You don’t see pics of fans with them the way you do with the other actors. But if they don’t feel comfortable mingling with fans while they’re working, they’re not obligated to, and shouldn’t be bashed because of it.

There’s a saying that you shouldn’t bite the hand that feeds. VCF has built their reputation on basically exploiting everyone who works on not just Once, but other shows as well. I’m not gonna say they’re evil for doing that, because it’d be hypocritical considering how enthusiastically I devour spoilers, many of which are supplied by VCF. But speaking for myself, if I was using these actors to make me who I am, I wouldn’t go around badmouthing them in public, (if they’d been genuinely horrible to me personally, I’d diss them in private to my personal friends, but I think it’s poor form to diss them publicly just for not doing something they don’t actually have to do).

I absolutely agree with you Phee.

A twitter account is a very public forum. People following you will see that stuff and will either not care, or quit following you.

Yes, and I can see them saying for example: JMO should show more appreciation for the people whose appreciation for her helped attain the success she enjoys”, versus calling her (or anybody else) names, or just using cheap tactics like school children.

That was way over the line. Very unprofessional. I just can’t believe that they did that; that after all their hard work, they would sabotage their reputation and credibility in that way! That’s a real shame and for it, I don’t think we’ll see Vancity around much longer. I don’t think anybody would want to let them on set, if they were goihg to do things like that. If I knew that’s the kind of thing to expect from them, I don’t think I would if it were my decision.

I read in a fan encounter the reason JMO doesn’t meet with fans is because she had a bad experience once.

Maybe. She can’t put that person’s face on everybody though. The truth is, there are some crazy people in this world but thank goodness, more sane ones than not (at least I hope so).

The photos are taken in public areas. Those involved with the show cannot legally ban VCF (or anyone else) from being in those areas during filming. Even if the powers that be don’t really want them around, they can’t actually prevent them from being there. VCF won’t be going away any time soon.
