I didn’t think of this until last night, but what if one of the ingredients used to make the Evil Curse was fairy dust? Think about it.
Making spells is like cooking; you need specific ingredients to make specific dishes. We know the dark curse didn’t originate with the Evil Queen, it was with Rumple. Think back to the pilot when the Evil Queen brought the curse to Snow White’s and Prince Charming’s castle. It was very sparkly and thin like the fairy dust.
Just saying.

She crushes the container and opens this scroll, where it’s written what she must do. Regina did the “cooking” as we see in either the Pilot or 2nd episode (they’re so blurred). She could have used fairy dust, though. From an evil fairy that is (obviously).

March 7, 2012 at 12:27 am #138297SnickerdoodleParticipantSo Henry hands her some type of root or hemp, she needs a lock of hair from those with the darkest souls, and the heart of the thing she loves most. We didn’t get to see what else she threw in the fire.
I’m still not sure the Dark curse originates with Rumpel. That has yet to be confirmed.
Remember Malificent says: “Whoever created that monstrosity makes the two of us look positively moral… who did give it to you?” Regina rebuts with, “Where I got it is none of your concern.”
However, she does say to Rumpel when visiting him at the jail cell that he gave her the curse, I guess the question is did he create it or did he acquire the “recipe” it somehow? Maybe I just don’t want to believe Rumpel is that dark 🙄

Interesting. I like it.

I’m not talking about how to enact the curse, I’m talking about how it was created.

We saw Rumple take Snow’s hair in exchange for her forgetting her love for Prince Charming in 7:15. I’d like to think he’d use her hairs for good and not for evil. At Paleyfest, we heard from the OUAT executive producers that: to drink a potion and forget who you love comes at a price, as Rumple has reminded us. “All magic comes with a price.” We’ll see what happens.

The word ingredients made me think of what I have seen, and I am still getting used to the possibility of that our fairies may not be as “good” as my mind makes them.
Where do you get evil fairy dust? Is it stolen? Is it procured in a similar way by an evil fairy picking it up once a year?
I’m still leaning toward the idea that Rumpel is not the creator of the Dark Curse, and so I am definitely open to the evil fairy idea.
March 8, 2012 at 3:16 am #13836541rapunzelParticipantdidnt Rumple take Snows hair to make her potion specific to her needs?
