This sounds like the three sisters from Heroes. One of them had ice powers, one was a mom (I think she died, too), and one was missing. And there were actually kind of four of them, too, if you count the two personalities one of them had.

What if Helga was actually Snow White’s aunt? Remember Snow was born during the “harshest winter”. If they don’t link that to Ingrid or her sister then that is a severely wasted opportunity.
What if Ingrid and Helga both had ice powers making Elsa’s mom the odd one out?

Keeper of FelixIf Helga would be SnowWhite’s aunt, Ingrid or Gerda would have to be Snow’s mother. Or there would have to be another sibling, but that doesn’t make sense either. Leopold was a king in his own kingdom, so hardly any connection there to the three sisters, and there was no mention or hint for another, fourth sister.

I agree with @Myril. I don’t think Helga is tied to Snow White. But that doesn’t mean Ingrid didn’t somehow cause the harsh winter.
Could Helga be the mother of Lily? Are there any tales featuring a Helga? I think Snow Queen actually killed Helga with her powers accidently as Elsa ALMOST did to Anna.

Hans Christian Andersen wrote a lengthy tale “The Marsh King’s daughter” about a girl named Helga. There is a connection to water lilys in it. Here a summary of it (it has a link to the text in it). As usual for Andersen it’s somewhat darker stuff,
And the founder of Hufflepuff is named Helga.

I think Ingrid accidentally froze Helga and then her family turned on her, trapping her in the urn. I also think there’s a possibility that Helga can be saved. Perhaps by an act of TL by Anna towards Ingrid? Like, say, they find Helga’s ice statue and Ingrid breaks down and causes a storm, but Anna, despite all the things Ingrid has done to her, risks being frozen/attacked by Ingrid in order to offer some comfort, which would thaw Helga who would have to be raised by Ingrid… Idk, it sounds cheesy but I like the thought of this season’s villain being salvageable.
Plus, it’s totally an Anna thing to do, especially after it was her (understandable) distrust of Ingrid which led to these events.

If Ingrid froze Helga, could she still be an ice statue somewhere, capable of being thawed out?
The only problem with Helga still being frozen is that the spell would’ve frozen her heart and killed her unless she had someone to remove it the way Regina did for Marian. Maybe that is how Rumple and Ingrid know each other. Ingrid accidentally froze Helga and went to Rumple for help, but rather than unfreeze Ingrid’s sister, he just removed Helga’s heart to keep Helga on ice.
