Initial reactions to the episode and to every scene – Emma is really not consistent (and believe me, this is the nicest word I can say about her right now). How could she remotely believe Gold? And she played Regina with Henry, OF COURSE he’s NOT Emma’s son. How could the writers even do that? She hit ALL the soft spots, WHY did she have to initiate that, she still doesn’t have a motif for Regina to kill Archie.
Now there’s absolutely NOTHING that will help Regina, nothing can be unsaid and obviously she’ll come back to the dark side. Henry was a lost cause anyway and I’m just disappointed that they had to engage Emma into talking all that cr** and made her believe it.And what was Snow thinking, of course Evil Queen would be trying to kill her the minute she had a chance, it’s been her motif for all those years, why would she suddenly forget it?
[adrotate group="5"]January 7, 2013 at 2:39 am #167174marilouParticipantit was an interesting episode. we learned a lot and it set up the next 2-3 episodes very nicely. Because of that I will forgive the little bit of dullness that was hanging around the edges.
The only problem I really have is how naive Emma is and how much Snow and Charming were terrible rulers for a kingdom. BTW, How does Emma dare tell Regina that henry is not her son? Emma gave him up when he was a child, I was all for Emma having contact with her son again and when the truth started to unfold, I did not mind henry being raised by the charming… Emma went too far this time around. Regina is henry’s mother no matter how hard she tries.
The problem with Snow and Charming in FTL is that they are so into themselves and each other, they fail to see the big picture. They miraculously manage to capture the evil queen and decides not to kill her out of moral concerns. good for them. but instead of keeping her jailed… or something… they let her go because now, she can no longer arm the royal couple. FOR REAL? WHAT ABOUT EVERYBODY ELSE? what about all of the other life she might have taken? must she not answer for those crimes? That was like a big F-U in the face of all the families of her previous victims…
snow and David totally rock my world in storybrook but in FTL they keep proving to be very inefficient ruler.

Someone give this person a beer.
And I thought the same about Snow and Charming – how selfish were they?!
January 7, 2013 at 3:41 am #167204craxyfoxParticipantI agree with both of the above, Emma really annoyed the bugger out of me. Of course Regina is Henry’s mother, are they forgetting that she raised him since he was a baby : At least Regina apologized after what she said 🙁
I was glad that Emma didn’t believe that Regina had “killed” Archie at first, but then when they were looking at Pongo’s memories, it seemed like they just stopped looking as soon as they saw ‘Regina’ attack Archie and ran out the shop. When we saw what actually happened, Cora and Archie were covered by a puff of smoke, surely there could have been more to see if they weren’t in a rush to jump to a conclusion

I am going to have to watch it again but I think the curse included everyone in FTL not just Snow and PC.
Cost of MAGIC…. by blocking EQ from killing SNOW / PC ( ? everyone ) in EF/ FTL …. RUMPLE set E.Q. to WANT / NEED to activate the curse.

No, they say that with the protection spell Regina cannot do anything to Snow or Charming, that’s it. Only later on Snow added that she will kill Regina is she tries to hurt anyone in her kingdom – which confirms that the Evil Queen can harm others and the spell protects only the Charmings exclusively.
January 7, 2013 at 4:15 am #167221evilqueenParticipantAnother thing – did Cora save Pongo on purpose? Could she have imagined he would be used to help frame Regina? Does she know Rumple so well that she knows his methods? For example, instead of paralyzing the dog, she could’ve let him keep on barking so that the people around would be more alarmed and surely some witness would’ve noticed Regina/Cora leaving?
January 7, 2013 at 4:18 am #167223marilouParticipantyeah but Pongo could still claw or bite her… why take the chance?
January 7, 2013 at 4:25 am #167227TheGoldenKeyParticipantOk, in a perfect world with a set of perfect moms I’d have to agree with what everyone is saying. However, that’s not the case. It’s SB and we are talking about EQ/Reggie here. Of course the Charmings are going to get self righteous and over protective with their loved ones. She’s a murderer for goodness sake. Emma saw a vision of Reggie chocking the life out of Archie. Of course she is going to on the defensive and want to keep Reggie away at all costs. Her son comes first and she wants him nowhere near someone as murderous as Reggie. We, the viewers, see the big picture. Emma and the Charmings only see the past and the current vision which clearer shows Reggie doing the deed. Let’s cut them a little slack.

Letting Pongo bark would only draw attention and risk being captured. She didn’t want to get caught. If the plan was for everyone to think Reggie had done it so that Reggie would break then getting caught would have ruined that. The gig would have been up when there were two Reggies. She wanted the clean getaway with Reggie being hauled in after the fact.
